About a year ago, I have finally made it into Grandmaster-league in StarCraft 2 after having been stuck in Masters-league for around 2 years.
After being on this plateau for a very long time, I have completely restructured my approach to learning and improving in the game and fully commited myself to taking action for 2 months straight.
Within these 2 months, I have made progress way beyond anything that I have ever thought possible before. Now, I want to share with you the principles that I used that made all of this possible in 2 months, after basically having been stuck for 2 years.
I will go through 2-3 more principles (we are now at principle 3) and will then begin working on another video in which I will try to reconstruct the 2 months, talking a little bit more specifically about what obstacles I had to overcome and what my schedule looked like.
Before I wanted to release that video however, I wanted to provide you with the very same principles - the principles that made this all possible for me. Once I have finished up the "Art of Learning" Playlist (again, 2-3 more principles...) I will release one last video that will quickly sum up all the principles again so that you have a better "overview" of those principles, you have it all in one place and can easily remind yourself of any of the concepts without having to watch all the videos again.
Obviously, I could put it all into one video, but I did not want to do this because I wanted to go a little deeper with every principle - explain the background of every single one of them, how they look in practice and so on. Once you understood the underlying logic of each principle, it should be enough to watch the "summary"-video a couple of times to really engrain this stuff into your brain.
Here's the principles that took me from Masters into GM in 2 months, after plateauing for years:
Principle 1: The Proper Way of Accumulating Knowledge
Principle 2: Radical Open Mindedness:
Principle 3: The Importance of Consistency:
Principle 4: Emotional Control: Dealing with Losses, Emotions, Misery
Enjoy!
