"better bridges to become a tier 1 team" as long as the current teams continue the trend of trading players or outright removing them for others, the qualifiers and majors become less of a consistent bridge because the chances of getting robbed of a chance at the event is higher. i view it as a problem in part with the short time between each event and the only way i would know for sure is if we sat down with a player and asked them about how they felt and how they practiced between them. we know that in sc2 there was an oversaturation but in dota 2--a game with a lot of interest and a lot of players involved--events and their results can be quite volatile (less so with double-elim bo3's). player habits surrounding the game, who you scrim with, and condition all matter. which means that the players themselves have a lot on their plate, and organizations need to be quite rich to support the habits. i can only imagine it's difficult to address larger issues within a team when so much rides on being relevant in the present. there are multiple events in a month at times, and some teams have to start choosing, start skipping, and spending time practicing instead. it's not only risk and reward to move players around, it is risk and reward for going to actual events. you could say that if rosters were more stable and players would never squabble, that it wasn't an issue. but winning, and winning consistently becomes a large part of having a dota 2 team right now. so much money is on the table and you can tell from player interviews, that players plan on making money in the short term and retiring wealthy in as timely a manner as can be managed. it's a career, like a sport or performance art now. this is of course awesome and rewarding for the entire competitive environment, but it also mixes emotions and makes roster changes so appealing. if you perform poorly over two straight lans as secret and EG have, that is a sign for change. new blood is hard to test because so much is riding in the short term. players who are earning now want to continue earning without a necessary halt that would come with new additions and new faces. it takes years out of an otherwise volatile career which is also affected by somewhat arbitrary changes to the game, and the way people just naturally change and progress in life. so more than the players themselves, the people behind dota 2 have the main influence on the decisions of struggling teams. i think this is what you are saying throughout your video. i'm also not sure if invites should be regional either. if invites to majors and separate events are based on regions and regional qualifiers there then becomes a question of what constitutes as being within a region. it's a problem that sc2 once had. i'm more a fan of teams being considered independant of their own region. they are simply teams. though, this would not be possible and it would be more harmful and even more volatile of a system. there needs to be quite strict rules on regions, and possibly a point-system allotted to placings in tournaments. perhaps being in the upper bracket is worth more by a smalll margin, giving more advantage to staying in the upper bracket. as is however when it comes to regions and teams that exist within, it works fine because there is no double-dealing. players can afford to move regions officially, and practice at home as a sort of vacation time. perhaps open qualifiers should only be accessible for teams who aren't registered as professionals. that once you are not invited to main regional qualifiers, a professional team within a certain amount of time are not eligible to compete for events that require them to go through open qualifiers. maybe they need to go through wildcard qualifiers, reserved for such situations. teams within the top 3/4 of regionals are eligible to go to the wildcards, and teams who make difficult changes from a regular-invite basis are delegated to not attending, or having to apply for wildcard spots. that is all too complicated, but i believe valve is making adjustments to their system. it just needs to be quite fast at this point.

I'm agree. What I meant is that, in an expected scenario in which there are roster changes but the ones you can expect and specially during the 'transfer period' I think the Qualifiers are some kind of a nice chance for lesser teams to grab some attention and earn some experience to improve. I mean going to a Major is, if I'm not wrong, a 100% secure payment even if you are last place.
