So for the last 2-3 months, I've been randomly disconnecting from all my LotV games. It's pretty ridiculous. At first I thought it was some kind of issue on the ISP end, but I quickly realized that LotV's networking is just broken. Normally in any game where I experience lag, the game lags for a few seconds and that's the end of it. In LotV, it will automatically disconnect you, WITHOUT notice to the player, WITHOUT ANY reconnect attempts. It will place a screen that says "Attempting to Reconnect" but it's all crap, you've been disconnected and Battle.net does not tell you anything.
This is a huge step backwards from previous iterations of Starcraft, all other iterations attempted to reconnect you (Even BW), however, for some reason it is now broken. LotV has been the first time I've seen a reconnect dialogue do nothing. I know my internet is fine during all this, because at first my first reaction was to Alt-Tab and go try to use the internet to check my connection. It is always fine. It is only Battle.net that is having issues.
And it is just LotV. Diablo 3 and Hearthstone do not have these issues with random disconnects. Hell, even other games such as Dota 2, League, or freaking Mechwarrior Online, don't have these issues. Only LotV finds it fine to fail to reconnect. Only Blizzard seems to have this kind of problem, which is sad.
I've talked to Blizzard support, and they were unable to help me. They sent me a list of suggestions like changing my hardware or keeping my drivers up to date, which is insane, when this is the ONLY game that has these connection issues. I feel bad for the support folks, because it's obvious it is a software issue, and they can't do anything to help me.
Here is a thread on the Blizzard support forums, it's been going strong since Novemeber 2015. Yet they still haven't fixed this issue. It seems like the community managers have tried to help, but they can't seem to provide any good explanation of what is going on or if people are even looking into it. Last week, they did an update to Battle.net, and it I didn't disconnect for several games. Then today it happened again, and I realized they hadn't fixed LotV at all.
Despite all the doom and gloom and Teamliquid, I really enjoy LotV. I know some parts of the game has issues, but overall it's been a marked improvement from WoL and HotS. I would be playing more and telling people about how great it is, but in the end, I can't actually play the game. And Blizzard seems to think its fine. What they don't know, is that probably hundred's of other players like me can't play the game, and we're being forced to move on. They want us to preorder more missions or something, but I can't really bring myself to do it, when this is a game I can longer play.
In the end all I can do is to rant to you guys, and hope someone somewhere sees this and brings out a fix. Otherwise, it's sad end to a game I really love. I will keep trying to play, but with each time I come back, I get a harsh reminder that Blizzard doesn't care.

You obviously didn't read that LotV is the only game that I disconnect from. And why would you hate it when you get a free win.
LotV may be the "only" game that disconnects for you, but you are the "only" one that has problems with LotV disconnecting. Do you see? The logic works both ways. One points you to Legacy being the problem, the other points to your computer being the problem. If you don't know what the problem is you must exhaust every single possibility. Are you connecting over wifi? Does it happen in every single game? Can you run ping -t (some address(es)) to see if you get spikes when you disconnect from Legacy? Can you try running a VPN to see if it's something that's happening from your ISP (maybe they throttle those particular packets for some weird reason). You say "hundreds" of others are having it. From that thread you know of maybe 4 or 5 more that are having it. Exaggerating the issue to fit your narrative is not helpful to finding the solution. Go with what you KNOW, not with what you speculate. You know:
- The game bonks out (sometimes? all the time?) at points during your game. - No other game has this problem. - This problem is limited to a very small number of users.
Now there may be some kind of connection between everything here.
Some different questions: - Do you have a Solid State Drive as your Operating System drive? - Do you have a second hard drive? - On which drive is legacy installed? Bear with me with those questions as they do go somewhere.
When I play LotV on my gaming laptop at my mom's house OR off of the Starbucks wifi it DCs just as it does for you. Oddly enough, no DC issues when i play HotS or WoL at my mom's place. Fortunately, my friends think HotS and LotV is too complicated so we play 2v2s in WoL.
when i play LotV at home it never does it. flawless LotV game play at home every time. no DCs ever at home.

I probably should have clarified. I have a good idea of what is happening. I believe sometimes my ISP will lag heavily for a few seconds and LotV will automatically disconnect me without any reconnect attempt. This happens to me on actually 2 machines - my old desktop, which had a standard hard drive, and a new one which I built with all new parts including a SSD as an upgrade.
In regards to the technical details, I opened a ticket with Blizzard support to look at this issue. It took some time since I have work and other things going on and am not always ready to troubleshoot this kind of issue by going through pings and installing network analysis software and I had to reopen the issue several times. Eventually support told me that according to my ping logs etc that my pings were going to my ISP and getting lost. They even told me they encountered the same issues in Heroes.
I believe this is a widespread issue, because the forum thread itself has over 600 views, compared to other threads which have only 30 or so views. It also tricky to find from specific search results, being only the 2nd or 3rd hit on the battle.net forums. And of course many people who experience this problem may not take the effort required to try to fix it. It's possible that this a very isolated problem, but with this kind of information I find it unlikely.
Looking at more of the forums, there was a post on the 16th that mentioned Blizzard support saying they are looking into it, so I will keep hoping, but for now I will probably take a break from playing until a new patch happens.

I honestly HATE people who act like this. Technical problems like this can be extremely hard to track down. "Fix your internet" is the most useless advice ever, while getting real advice over internet is next to impossible because of entitled know-it-alls who look down on anyone having problems.

<<group hug>>
its both the OPs internet problem and Blizzard's LotV game. and i believe the OP has already admitted to this. then, check my post.
LotV is hyper-sensitive to big lag spikes. This is why only a very small percentage of people are experiencing it. As I said.. i can paly WoL and HotS off of Starbucks WiFi, but i get DC-ed into games of LotV. At home its perfect and i never DC at home.
