In this part of my rambling, I intend to show how I am coming along in learning and playing Brood War.

Hello, it has been a while.
I had been particularly busy in the few weeks after my previous blog entry, as a result, playing BW simply became less of a priority, and by the time I was un-busy, I simply drifted into trying to learn Fighting Games, most notably USF4 and Skullgirls, for a more casual change of pace, the fact that I had never really touched the genre bar Tekken 2 as a child meant that it was quite exciting and interesting to learn. SFV h y p e!
However, over the past few months, my BW passion has re-surged greater than before, and I have been playing pretty consistently every day. I have spent around a month each on TvZ and TvP, and have felt quite pleased with my progress thus far, attaining D+ on iCCup on two separate accounts.
In terms of strategy, in TvP I have been favoring the FD, I love the build and the fact you can be aggressive and get a decently timed expansion in tandem with the little 6 marine 1 tank vult push. If I think I can kill the Protoss, I will simply go for a 5 factory push to end the game, however, it is far more common that I will just take a third, an armory and 4 factories and play it out until 2-1 as best I can.
For TvZ, I have been doing a number of things, fast engineering bay and 1 rax FE builds, but have somewhat settled on the 2 barracks academy into a han bang timing with 3 tanks a vessel and bio. I have practiced this build the most and it feels quite nice, I might dedicate some time to learning a more standard opening in the future.
Unfortunately I have not really touched TvT yet, there are a lot less people interested in playing the match-up, but I'm sure I can learn a solid build for it and take it to ladder.
In terms of what I want to accomplish for the future, I think getting to C- is a good, achievable goal. In no way do I think my play is good yet. There is still so much to improve and fix, but luckily that is where my main enjoyment of the game comes from.
I wish I had a bit more to write about, hopefully my next blog will be a lot more satisfactory in terms of actual content haha.
Until next time,
