They all seemed weird and I wouldn't be caught dead being a part of their movement, but they seemed enthusiastic about it; and despite how bizarre their activities are, they seemed better off having some purpose in life. Also, certain activities are psychologically healthy. It seems that spirituality is like that, so from a neurological point of view it doesn't matter if you belief in God or in the power of the human mind to improve the world or whatever. I read an article about something similar, in case you're interested. http://aeon.co/magazine/psychology/can-my-prayer-be-as-angry-and-funny-as-me/ One day I might write up why I believe what I do. I will probably do so after I get the paperwork about me from the boarding "school" so it can be better written. I don't doubt spiritualism works for some people but I feel it's just a bandaid for your mind I personally feel like you should be comfortable to be on your own. But that's not the normal human reaction for example that psychology experiment with the 12 people and two lines on longer than each other and they're asked to say which one is smaller at the first 11 are researchers and say it's the bigger one and 90% of the last people who agreed because they couldn't stand on their own.

Those are the Asch conformity experiments and it's really only a 1/3 who conformed, so I'm not sure it supports your point so well.

I was going off memory it's 1/3 for all the questions but 75% across people, meaning at somepoint during the testing they conformed to the group. So it's sort of a half relevant thing next time I will search it to see if my memory of it holds up
