Some of you may remember my struggle with my master degree thesis in philosophy. I have problems writing at lenght and after 30 pages I was stuck (the goal was around 100). Someone in the other thread told me to write another blog entry to update you on my situation and so I did.
My thesis is finished! I wrote about 100 pages. How was I able to? I would point out three things: 1-Going deeper and deeper on the topic 2-Quotations 3-Lot of contemporary discussion
My professor, who had been silent for months, is suddenly super excited and told me he wants to propose me for a PhD at King's College, London In mid-october I'll graduate and then I'll start all the applications. Hopefully I will know something around March/April and maybe in September 2015 I'll start this new adventure abroad.
Ah congrats! I've been dealing with tough personal stuff and am spending way too many years on mine. Hard to really get going O.O how did you manage to make yourself do it?
Did my own Masters just a few years ago in the field of computer science in the area of usability methodology. Took 110 pages and roughly half a year to finish it.
My strategy was not staying at home when I had to write. I went to other places because my subconscious links home with games, sleep, relax, etc. Also, realistic goals.
I wrote about Luis de Molina, a spanish jesuit who tried to give an answer to the problem of divine foreknowledge and free will. I think I'll go where I get paid enough to survive. Achieving economic indipendence is important for me at the moment, and doing so while studying things you like would be really cool.
