Fitness Review
This was today's objective:
The days fitness was yet another light day. I walked about 5 miles on my travels and I completed the other exercises in one go. I had no suitable way to complete the tricep dips so instead I did ten sets of push-ups. Although I still find them difficult I can now do five full push-ups without collapsing on a heap on the floor. A small amount of progress but still progress.
Tomorrows exercise will include another 1.5km run where I intend to push as hard as I can and finish faster than I did last time.
The Days Diet
I am currently not on a diet but will be starting on one soon. This area will go over the days food intake and will include recipes so everyone can start eating better at home!
Starcraft 2 and Stream Review
These were today's objectives:
1. Improve overlord positioning in ZvZ to see incoming ling pressure.
2. Improve creep spread in ZvT to aid in engagements.
3. Improve overlord positioning in ZvP to see pylons and pushes.
As with the day before I was fairly tired and due to a event and hence I wasn't able to keep to the improved practice scheduled. I started playing around 8pm and played 7 games where I ended up going 4-3. The most important thing I have learnt while trying to improve at Starcraft is to improve small things at time rather than just trying to "get better". Although I had plenty of losses I hit all of my goals apart from my ZvZ due to playing no zergs.
In ZvT my creep spread was the best it has been in recent memory and in one game when I was about to over commit I remembered my objective, fell back onto creep and crushed his army. The losses were to a two rax and one game where I didn't have correct map vision.
My ZvPs were more successful. Firstly I successfully defended a two gate and I am now more confident in defending against them and I also crushed a protoss in a macro game. My loss was to a push I saw coming but just wasn't able to defend.
Game Summary and Points of Improvement
Vs Protoss (2-1)
- With a practice partner continue practice to help with defending two gates
- Re-practice the build orders to ensure I can defend all ins.
- Keep improving map vision by finding best overlord positions.
Vs Terran(2-2)
- Learn a new safe build
- Use lings to follow terran army to avoid being caught unprepared.
Overall I still need to improve my build execution while I also need to focus on a few small areas. From tomorrow I will be using new builds in ZvT and ZvZ, I will go more into them tomorrow. So be sure to watch the stream!
Stream Summary
Back to my regular streaming schedule but nothing special happened. I averaged 3-4 viewers. I really want to boost my viewership so I can interact and help people. To improve the teaching potential of the stream in the future I will be targeting my stream at certain areas in my play e.g. how to defend a two gate. Hopefully this will help more people. Be sure to tune in!
Further Comments
As mentioned yesterday I went to a small local magic event to hopefully win a play mat. There was only 12 people there which is small even by our standards. I went 3-1 in the Swiss rounds losing my only match due to getting screwed by my draws. Then came the top 4 cut, I ended up losing 2-1 to a deck which is a bad match up for me. However I almost won but my opponent drew his only out. Maybe I could have played better? Who knows, but thats magic for yah! Tomorrow I am attending another event hopefully I can win!
