"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out" - Robert Collier
Today's exercise was almost pure cardio with a little bit of body building mixed in. Physically it was the most challenging day of my life.
After going for a walk around the park I began the 20 minute run/jog. My aim was improve on the run of day 6 and get further than 3km in 20 minutes. Stupidly I decided to eat right before I left which impacted on my performance. After getting stuck at a traffic light for a minute, I got a stitch in my stomach but I fought through it. I had done 3km before so I was going to do it again! The run was tough but I managed the full 20 minutes without stopping even though I had to slow down at times.
At the 20 minute mark I had covered 3.3 kilometers a small progression but still a progression. Without the stop at traffic lights where I had to run on the spot, or having the stitch I am confident I could have pushed to 3.5km.
After spending 5 minutes relaxing under a tree I started the sprint portion.I found it really tough, when I came to the third sprint I couldn't complete the press ups in one go, I was wiped out. But I managed to complete all the exercises eventually. I'm really looking forward to see how my running will progress.
After a very satisfying day of exercise I played about 1 hour of customs before starting the stream. I played a interesting set of games initally going down 1-4 before springing back up to 4-4 before ending the stream.
Although I wasn't as successful as the day before I played better opponents and further improved my mechanics and play.
All three ZvPs were against all the ins and the game I lost was incredibly close I must keep practicing to insure I hit my benchmarks to maximize my chance of holding. .
I lost my only ZvZ it was the first roach vs roach game I had played since Hots came out and I lost due to my opponent opening gasless getting a 1/1 lead over my 1-0. I may have to adjust my build when faced without a double upgrade zerg player.
The ZvTs were the most frantic, the first loss due to not scouting mech and the second due some insane helion control from a 16 times master player.
More importantly however was how far my stream progressed I reached many miles stones. I received 3 more followers and I maintained a 7-8 concurrent viewership throughout the entire two hours of Starcraft 2 a feat I had never achieved before.
Hearthstone went less well, at the moment I do not have the cards to build a deck in which I can play competitively and my hearthstone portion barely gets any views and the response I have received from the Starcraft community has been far more positive. As a result to focus further on Starcraft and expanding my streaming profile. Scheduled hearthstone will be put on temporary hiatus. I will still be streaming some hearthstone but full game reports will no longer be part of this blog.
Starcraft Summary
Vs Terran (2-2)
- I still need to improve the opener by grinding some customs.
- Overlord spread needs to be improved.
- Focus on scouting to identify mech/bio.
- Maybe add in roach warren to defend vs extra helion pressure.
Vs Protoss (2-1)
-I need to practice both openers to hit various bench marks..
Overall I really need to note down the important timings for both races, e.g when expansions should be done so I will be able to notice sneaky plays sooner.
In the future after the two Starcraft hours are up I will either continue to play or switch to another game. Reaching Legend in Hearthstone is still a goal of mine so I will still work towards it.
As always thanks for reading. Tomorrow the stream will go live at 7pm GMT +1 and I will be doing some free coaching once I reach the 45 follower goal. So be sure to tune in!
P.S I am currently looking to make my stream more professional with on and off screen graphics which can properly display what I am trying to do. I am also still experimenting with the blog format. If you can help me with this send me a pm.
