Yes, it exists, the fabled man flu, i have contracted a particularly bad case of it. It all started one fateful Wednesday (last week) when my mother complained of a cough. The following day i woke up with a sore throat, by midday my eyes were puffy and my nose running. The next day i was on deaths door, headaches, blocked nose, sore throat, chesty cough, all of it.
Fast forward the weekend and im still dying. I have a constant headache, im rotating on cough syrup / 2 sinus flu tablets every 4 hours and i take an extra all-purpose flu tablet 2 hours in between. I have a cold wet towel over my forehead and none of it matters, i still feel like absolute shite.
The worst part is this headache, i cant concentrate at all because of it, its killing me. People said it was my sinus pressure but 3 days of sinus focused tablets and constant clearing of my navel cavity later and it is only getting worse. I'm forgetting rudimentary shit like replying to messages i read or making a drink (prepare cup, walk upstairs with empty cup.)
I guess the whole point of this blog is that it sucks ass. My wife comes home Wednesday and i wanted to celebrate (3 weeks apart Q.Q). I have a job interview thrusday and i wanted to prepare but my body says nope nope nope.
Man flu exists and it sucks.

I feel ya man, I got the flu for the first time back in February, and it was rough, especially because I had an incredibly important audition the day after I got it. :D

I hear some people get the flu and stay in bed all day and night for a few days.... I'm 24 and I've never had to do that.
I just sit around miserably.

Man up and drink a manly flu medicine aka the miracle tea.
Earl grey tea with honey, a pinch of ginger and cayenne pepper. Does the trick every time.

Maybe you just have allergies

I tried to go for a run with the flu once, because it actually makes me feel better if I do a light jog if I have a cold. Bad idea.
First mile felt okay in like 7:45 just being lazy, but then it was like "oh fuck" started feeling awful, next mile was like 13:00 and felt hard, and the last one was a 30:00 death march of throwing up several times.
Moral: Do not run when you have the flu.
