Let's get straight to the point: Without TL, my YouTube channel wouldn't have gotten as much attention as it has. When I posted one of my first songs here, "StarCraft 2, what up" in September 2011, my channel had around 200 subscribers. I was pretty nervous back then, and I still am, all the time. I lurk here a lot and I see the reactions people show on other content or just general self-advertising. That can make you nervous as a creator who just wants to entertain and be a part of the community. Because of things like that, I still don't really know how to get my content out to people without giving the wrong impressions.
This is one of the reasons why I didn't post here for a long time. It causes anxiety knowing that every word you say when posting your own stuff gets analyzed, picked apart and then criticized. I could create alts and post my content and say "look what I found". I found out about a lot of creators who do that. I could also get some of my fans to post my content on different media if they don't do it "naturally". But all of that is bullshit. And so is posting it yourself. But I'd rather get shit for self-advertising than forcing my fans into posting or being a pretentious asshole and posting with alt accounts.
So here's the deal: I have made a new song that I think some of TL might like. And I will post it here. You might not like it. You might not like me because of the things I say or said in the past. You could be a mod and just now go through my post history and see that my last post was from 2 years ago and think about deleting this one. You will probably think that it is selfish to lurk all the time and only post for something like this.
But I hope that my song will overcome all those thoughts and you will like it enough to maybe not give me shit for posting it. I hope you enjoy it.
