EPTLittle bit of preface:
I was lucky enough to attend RedBull Battlegrounds. I wasn't planning to, but when Clarity asked for an interviewer and offered a place to sleep, it was possible.
I actually have never done interviews, so this was my first go. I started off with Hyun, and that was short and sweet, and then I interviewed Golden as part of his 'goodbye' article that Clarity will be showing sometime in the future. Unfortunately, the audio was so bad that even writing down the Q&As was impossible. Which really sucked, because Golden was answering in English and we were having a pretty fun time. Anyway, I just wanted to show some of the interview questions that were too fun not to get out there, so this is entirely fluff. Note that Clarity did another interview with him (with Vixen), but she missed some questions while providing new ones as well, so think of this as either a little teaser for the official article/interview or a special added bonus.
Also Golden was all smiles despite retiring/losing 0-2 0-2, and @dearyuna helped with translating hard questions.
The Interview:
Two things: This is from memory, so some if it may be off; I wasn't sure if I should write in the semi-broken English (he had really good English, but I guess he did spend 7 months in the US), but I felt like it added something. :D.
ZG: How did you get into gaming?
GOLDEN: I saw Starcraft when I was young. I really wanted to play but...never pro. I play five years but, yeah, never pro.
ZG: Did you attend the Courage Tournament?
GOLDEN: Yes, 29 times.
ZG: Oh wow, uh, well...it's a hard tournament.
GOLDEN: *nods*
ZG: Did you like SC2 as much as Brood War?
GOLDEN: Yes...it's 3D. Very pretty. (I believe he mentioned 'explosions' here too). Also...I want switch zerg and use mutas, cause I terran in Brood War. I hated mutas. I wanted to use SC2 mutas like that...but SC2 mutas not like that.
ZG: *laughs* 2 hatch muta op?
GOLDEN: *nods, smiles surprised/nervously* Yes.
ZG: Who was your favorite BW player?
GOLDEN: Boxer!
ZG: Yeaah! Mine too! *raises fist*
GOLDEN: *surprised, raises fist*
ZG: So you were in SlayerS...was meeting Boxer great?
GOLDEN: Yes! (He seems -very- happy about this)
ZG: That's so cool to have him as a hero and then meet and play with him...one day. ):
ZG: So what about certain eSF teams joining KeSPA?
GOLDEN: I don't care, I don't play *laughs*
ZG: Well, what about when KeSPA changed to Starcraft 2?
GOLDEN: Hmm...we thought...they take one year to reach our level. But, no, they only take 6 months.
ZG: So you were scared?
GOLDEN: Yes, scary.
ZG: Why do you think they are better?
GOLDEN: Hm...*smiles* I think money is problem.
ZG: *laughs* Money?
GOLDEN: Yes...they have it. They get salaries.
ZG: So who is the best KeSPA player?
GOLDEN: I think...SoS, cause he won Blizzcon.
ZG: Will he win Redbull?
GOLDEN: Yes.
ZG: Korean SC2 is not doing well. What can improve the Korean SC2 situation?
GOLDEN: *smiles nervously* Make Starcraft 3 fast. *laughs*
ZG: *laughs* So what about the expansion? That won't help?
GOLDEN: I thought...expansion would help. But...HotS, very similar to Wings of Liberty. So...yes, make Starcraft 3 fast.
ZG: So what's after for you?
GOLDEN: I go to military 2 year...then go to school in US.
ZG: Oh, cool! What will be your major?
GOLDEN: *holds finger to lips* Secret!
ZG: So any last words?
GOLDEN: Uhm...please don't be sad. *laughs* I am not dead.
ZG: Shout-outs?
GOLDEN: *shrugs, laughs* No.

Just a bit o' fluff. But interviewing a guy who doesn't really care/has no incentive to mask his answers was pretty darn fun.
