In response to the OP I don't think that anyone here has more knowledge than an oncologist who has access to all of your friends medical history, tests etc...

To clarify it once again, as maybe my original post was not that clear: I am not seeking medical advice as such. I am well aware that TL is not the spot for this.
I am seeking for ideas from people who have been in a similar situation. It is a brainstorming. Any suggestion will of course be carefully considered and discussed with professionals.

But mainly this is to find out about the exact oncologist you talked about so to speak. To find out if anyone knows someone specialized and renowned in the exact field.

There is a pretty renowned oncologist who is called doctor Piroth in Düsseldorf. I met him myself and he seems to be a very reasonable and competent man.

At some point there is really nothing we can do given the current breadth of understanding we have of cancer. Some fight to the bitter end, going under the knife and taking chemo/radiation till they are too weak to enjoy life. I know it sounds like giving up, but if he truly is at the end of his rope and multiple oncologists agree, there might not be much more we can do.

It might be time to consider palliative care. Too many people artificially prolong their lives, and in payment give their quality of life away, laid out on a hospital bed in agony. His last moments should be good ones, at least able to talk to his friends and family and somewhere he is happy. He is so young though which is what makes the situation so shitty

He needs energy to defeat the cancer. You get energy from good food, sunlight, rest, exercise, and meditation, which is known to relieve stress (a common cause of fatigue). What's crazy about it?

Just because you don't do it doesn't mean it's a waste of time.
