EPTLet me start off by introducing myself. My name is Jack. I am seventeen years of age, and I have been playing video games competitively since the dawn of my existence. Before I was really into PC gaming, I used to play Halo competitively. As soon as I was introduced to SC I really fell in love.
I guess the point of this blog post was to introduce you guys to a project I have been working on for the past few months or so.
About two years ago, my father introduced me to the world of open-source programming, and I became fairly interested. After this, I built my own computer, and got really into Software Engineering.
I'm not exactly great with writing.. so I am just going to get right to the point. Over the summer, I have been working on a small project as sort of a "entry" level thing to impress colleges. I have actually been surprised with the outcome, and I feel like you guys would actually enjoy checking this out.
I have taken the popular streaming site, Twitch TV, and used their API to re-create their site for what I think is the better. I use Twitch quite often, as I am always watching streams on my other monitor as I am doing things, and I thought that their user interface was a bit sluggish. I figured I could re-create it using a front-end Javascript framework such as Marionette to create a seamless interface where you can check some games, click a game, and get right to a stream, with chat, instantly.
I feel like I have done an okay job, and I invite you guys to check out my app! It is still a work in progress, yet is fully functional now! Check it out !
