I usually learn one or two new species per year and have worked my way up to a pretty decent amount. I am still wary of white mushrooms with white gills and brown mushrooms with brown gills. Here in Sweden there are usually a couple of poisonings each year. Most commonly (I think) caused by Cortinarius rubellus . It grows in the same habitat as Cantharellus tubaeformis which is why people pick it by mistake and then don't go through the mushrooms properly.
