I come back out of the club just after going in, this is where things get insane. I exit the club and we're towards the street, its a two way street with a speed limit of about 25-30 MPH. We're hugging and kissing and just talking for a moment. Having a good time like we always do and then... it hapoened. A car barreling down the road in what had to have been at least 45-60 MPH slams right into a young woman who had a thick european accent, maybe czech? Not entirely sure. She was crossing the street and he ran straight into her with zero attempt to hit the brake. I had assumed she was a tourist trying to enjoy a nice vacation in Las Vegas, and our club scene is pretty kick-ass so that would make perfect sense. That just made me feel even worse for the poor girl, who was incredibly strong I might add. My girlfriend and I were the only people who witnessed the event, it happened in almost slow motion and if I had been just a little quicker.... maybe, just maybe... i woild have got the bastards plates. We stood there in disbelief for about 3 seconds as the car smashed into her making her body do a flip. At first, we thought she was forcibly thrown out of the vehicle. This was not the case. It was a hit and run. A tragedy, we didnt know if she was dead as we ran to try to help her. Desperately my girlfriend calling out for help and running into near-by traffic, as much as I loved her want to help I quickly restrained her so she herself did not share the same fate as the cars drove by. We arrive to help the woman, who manages to get herself up, well... so to speak. She managed to lift her head and torso up, as if she were leaning against a wall of some sort. At this point security is there helping us and getting rags to try and stop the bleeding wounds all over her body. Mostly brusies on the upper part but one of her legs... I've never seen such a thing with my own two eyes, the bone was hanging out as shot to the floor, the guard is quick to cover the wound and we ask her if she is okay... I know its a stupid question but we were shocked ourselves. She said a very small sentence, "help me, please." She was pointing over to her possesions which was a purse and some kind of container. I didnt look inside. I handed her the possesions and was suprised how calmly she asked for it. The shock hadn't settled off yet we found out later, as by the time the ambulance arrived she was screaming in pain still possibly unaware that her leg didnt have any bones left. It was one of those things you see in movies... seeing it with my own eyes was a lot more of a burden to bear. I continaully see it playing over in my head. I wanted to do more, i wanted to help, and still somehow my biggest concern was my Girlfriend seeing it. I didnt want her to be exposed to those sites so I took her off to the side so she didnt have to bear witness to the pool of blood and bone. We were waiting for the police arrived to tell them exactly what we saw, but they arrived fairly late and we had a club manager who I firmly believe wqs more interested in getting the ambulances off his property and going back to business, asking us for a phone number and to jusg enter into the club and he'd call us when the police arrived. He never called.
Needless to say when we got inside after not getting a call for 2 hours we got drunk. We both felt terrible we couldnt help more but I'm hoping the camera got enough footage. It was a tragedy thst truly made me sick. How could he SPEED UP!? After hitting her? What kind of twisted thing is that. He will never forget what he did, or she, whoever was driving that black car with tinted windows. They will always wonder if that woman is alive or dead, in the back of their brain. It will haunt them forever. They should of stopped... but that was not the case. Part of me still feels like it was almost done.... on purpose. It was just a tragedy. Thankfully shes alright, but I will never forget what I saw last night. I will definitely not be speeding any time soon as well. I'm happy that the girl made it with her life. She is very lucky in that sense. Still, I hope the driver is found but it just seems so unlikely... I dont not feel Justice was done this time...
