Cue unformatted wall of text.
So, I'm currently texting a human of the female variety. You know, the one's with a vagina? And boobies? (working boobies, not the ones you get from eating too much fast food.) We met my junior year of highschool. I had just moved to a new school, and she happened to be in one of my classes. I never really talked to her, save the occasional conversation she would get in to with me and my friends that I made in that class. Either way, fast forward to my senior year. We didn't have any classes together, but we did talk a bit more, whenever I would be in the culinary class during lunch. (The culinary teacher loved me. I had teachers aide first period, and I would go in there any day I didn't have stuff to do. Never had her class, but she let me cook and boss the kids in her class around who didn't know what they were doing.) Well, we became friends to an extent. Then, the school year ended. Never really thought about her, except that she was really pretty. We met again at a party that was at my friends house. We exchanged numbers, and decided since she lives in my neighborhood, we should hang out more often. She heard I was interested in firearms, and wanted to learn how to shoot. So I said I would let her shoot one day whenever she wanted. A couple days later (which was around the first of this month) she texted me, asking if I was going to my friends house for the party that was happening. I told her I was, and she asked that I bring my rifle, and let her shoot it. So, we meet up about 3 hours before the party, and we go to the land behind my friends house and I teach her about firearms safety, how the firearm worked, and all of that. She was terrified of the noise even through the earpro that I provided her. She only shot it once, but she said it was fun.
Cue scary night.
Being highschoolers, we all got drunk. She got so drunk that she became sick, and started throwing up and everything. I'm studying to be an EMT, (have been for a few years. Completed quite a few textbooks related to EMT/paramedicine practice.) Naturally, I take care of her. I hold her hand for 2 hours, as she lays down, feeling like shit. Eventually she feels better, and joins the party. I made sure she didn't drink anymore, because we didn't need her sick again.
Either way, this is when we REALLY start texting. I'm pretty bad when it comes to talking to girls, I have bad experiences. I had a few of my friends giving me pointers, and all seems to be going pretty well. She texts me to start most of our conversations, she includes smiley faces and winky faces regularly. One day, she invited me over, and a mutual friend of ours was there. We watched Magic Mike (fuck that movie was bad.) Nothing happened, I just wished her a good night afterwards and went home, because I had to be up early to finish working on my truck. This was about a week ago. She iWell, today is her birthday and I am sadly out of town. I'm currently deciding what I should get for her, so if anyone has any recommendations I would be greatly appreciative. When I get back in town this wednesday, we plan on going to the movies, and out to eat. Kinda like a date, but neither of us have given it that title. I think she likes me, but I'm not really sure. (probably because I lack confidence.) Either way, I'm pretty happy with how this is going as of now. I'll be sure to post a blog after we go to the movies on wednesday.
tl;dr Though I am terrible with women, I seem to have found a pretty decent girl who may like me. And I have yet to fuck it up.
Really nothing substantial, just kinda wanted to join in on the whole girl blog community on TL. Thanks for reading if you did.

Sounds like everything is going well, and even though I know next to nothing about your relationship I would advise that you make a move soon because you might give her the impression that you're not interested. She obviously likes you enough to want to spend time with you, so unless you just want to wind up being this girls friend, you should ask her out.

100% friendzone
Joking, but it will end that way if you don't gather up some courage and make a move. Girls expect guys to do things first and they like when you take the initiative.

I totally agree with Salv. However, asking a girl out can be tricky. It's can be really awkward if you just ask her if she wants to be your girlfriend. I think a good way to go about it is to just make moves physically. Try holding her hand while at the movie and at some point when you are hanging out together alone, go for a kiss. If she accepts the kiss, then it's pretty much a done deal and soon after you can actually get a verbal confirmation that you are in fact dating.

Yeah, I plan on making a move when we go to the movies.
@Cowpie. That's literally exactly what plan to do. I think straight up asking would be quite awkward.
Thanks for the tips.

On a side note, it's my girlfriend and I's one year anniversary of being a couple and we are going great.
She initiated things

Speaking of not being sure where you stand with a girl and going to the movies, I'd like to share an amusing anecdote.
My high school crush and I went to the movies together. She was dating some other guy at the time, but was pretty bored with him, and we had been close friends for a few years. We were going to colleges in different states at the time and I was home for the weekend. Held her hand during the movie (fuck yeah; take that, crippling shyness!). Offered to drive her across the parking lot afterwards to her car, we ended up sitting in my car talking for a while. At one point, she moves in to try and kiss me, which I do not pick up on because I'm a dumbass. I choose that exact moment to adjust how I'm sitting, as car seats get uncomfortable after a while, and lean back away from her. She ices up and goes home, and I have no idea why.
She didn't find out I hadn't been rejecting her and I didn't find out she had been making a move until literally years later.

So, I'm currently texting a human of the female variety. You know, the one's with a vagina? And boobies? You lost me. I think we need an expert on these matters to further clarify what this "female" specimen is.

Magic Mike eh? Say, your date wouldn't happen to involve you helping her shop, would it??
|
Time for you to man up and escalate already
|
You'll be fine, OP. As long as you're not cripplingly autistic and can pick up social cues then you'll be fine.
She texts me to start most of our conversations
Yeah she wants the D.

at the end of your day together on this pseudo date make sure to ask her on an actual date
|
That is kind of a weird choice for a film to watch together lol.
|
Just to reiterate what some others have pointed out, you gotta skate gotta show her you're interested in her!

All girls have an attractive window. A period of time where they become more and more attracted to a certain guy. Playing hard to get in this window works wonders. You haven't made a significant move yet, and you missed her birthday. She responds by texting you more and agreeing to a movie and something to eat.
IMO she is going to give you a sign on this evening. Girls always assume that they make their intentions really obvious, even though most of the time they're confusing as hell. If she compliments you on your looks, even in a short of joky way that leaves a back door open if you don't respond well, you must respond! Don't just stammer a thanks, compliment her in return and if you're feeling up for it, some light physical contact.
If you don't blow it during the evening, at some point go for a kiss. I would suggest getting her a present and giving it to her right before you say goodnight.
"Oh hold on, I almost forgot, I got you something 'cause it was your birthday right..."
Give her the present, and then kiss her. Boom.
If she enjoys drinking coffee or tea, get her a nice mug with some speciality tea/coffee thrown in the top. Nothing over the top, but something that says you pay attention to what she likes, and you put a little effort in, but not too much considering you're not actually dating yet.

Text = friend. Call = so, ummm I'm on the pill, don't worry

First, why in the fuck would you bring a gun to a party? Don't ever do that.
Second, make a move. Now. Just ask her out and then take her out. You can't sit there with your thumb in your ass for too long or your window of opportunity will close. This is how you get friend-zoned. I know exactly how you feel (I was that not-confident dude in high school), but trust me, that shit does NOT pay off. I don't care who you are or what you look like, you have enough to be confident about (but not arrogant), so just be confident and be genuine. Anyone who doesn't respect you or gives you shit for making a move in a genuine manner isn't someone that is worth your time.
Third, don't ever bring a fucking gun to a party man.

Friend zone I think which i mean is ok because you can break out of that. The thing about friend zone is you can learn how to be the perfect bf to her if you r eally like her. But honestly my advice just tell her how you feel about her, worst case she says no, and you feel like shit, so thats an execuse to buy a new video game lol.
