If you offer someone accommodation and there's an issue you don't kick them out until the terms of your initial offer have expired or they find somewhere else. Basic human decency.

I hope the reverse happens to you and you get kicked out for something as fucking childish as this, miles from home and all the other hotels are booked. Besides, you're asking for it by going to a freaking furry convention(oh woo is me, my first experience at the freak convention was ruined because someone snored!)

Also to the idiot earlier who said some shit about OP asking for opinions, people are giving them, that shes a stupid childish brat. Which is different from us just randomly shitting on her, especially if she asked for it.

As someone who travels, shares rooms with many people (8 people in the room last tournament I went to), and snores (pretty loudly from what people tell me), this blog makes me pretty sad. Hopefully you're just a troll, because if not you are a really horrible person

Money up front always.

And snoring isn't a controllable trait such as personality quirks, messiness, rudeness, etc... so lacking that compassion is kind of ridiculous. Outside of that, drowning out the snoring, or buying incredibly cheap ear plugs or having them supplied by the hotel is immensely easier and problem-solving, than kicking out someone without any accommodations.

It just seems incredibly petty, selfish and immature.

Instead of kicking him out you should've talked to him and had a proper discussion about what options he had. Kicking him out was far too extreme too quickly.

Kicking him out was a pretty bad move. Then again, I remember on a vacation to New York sleeping in the same room with my dad who is a terrible snorer. I got absolutely no sleep that trip. Sounds like your roommate was being inconsiderate in the other parts, but he probably wasn't bad enough to deserve getting kicked out.

1) Don't room with strangers when you can't accept the possibility of them being somewhat different to a certain degree. That guy didn't shit in your sink or puked against the walls. He fucking snored.

2) Buy earplugs. Hell, if you walk to the reception of most hotels they have some in stock.

3) Listen to music while falling asleep. Headphones help.

4) Use toiletpaper instead of earplugs.

5) Sleep in shifts.

Pretty much what I think. You guys are going really easy on the OP considering she kicked a guy out into a city he doesn't have any real understanding of and forcing him to fend for himself due to a ridiculously uncontrollable issue on his end and a possibly unobtrusive issue on the OP's end (snoring). If I got kicked out into an unfamiliar city with only the clothes on my back and the money in my account because I had a snoring fit one night, I would be incredibly pissed. Also, I thought you said you needed this guy and his gf's money to help pay, but you kicked him out immediately for snoring? I'm guessing you really didn't need this money.

I'm a snorer. Sometimes even a hardcore snorer and I know my g/f loves me, because she is able to sleep with me. Earplugs are often much appreciated for her but still. Kicking someone out, because he snores? WTF

The real danger of this situation is that nobody is in control. The person who snores likely doesn't understand how bad it is and has no control over it. And lets be honest, most of us are not rational by hour 40 of being awake because of a sleep disturbance. I am generally a very gregarious fellow but I have had similar situations when traveling the CCG circuit and even I blew up a little. After traveling 2000 miles and spending thousands on travel/room/board/tickets/lost wages I am not going to sleep away the day's activities so basically I was awake for four days apart from passing out in my chair between rounds.

Snoring exists in a spectrum, as does sleep sensitivity. It is my belief that if you are in the extreme of either, very easily disturbed or a very loud chronic snorer, it is your obligation to be up front about it.

Basically the lesson I learned was to always have my own room when I travel. The second sleep is compromised, the entire trip is ruined.

if the person is paying, I just think you cant kick him/her and getting the person's money because he snores. You can kick the person but not get the money, have some dignity please..

You are like sharing the room, deal with the conscequence of being with the stranger, snoring is not that bad to kick him out, if he is harming you thats the time you kick him out but don't get his money, he just does not forfiet the room since he is snoring. lol
