You guys can wear earplugs. When you room with other people you will always have to make compromises. Not asking for money upfront is your business but holy shit that is a dick move just kicking someone out when there's no place for them to stay in the surrounding X miles especially if he was depending on you for q place to stay

If you agree to crash in a room with 4 other people then it's pretty predictable that there will be some noise from people snoring or getting up to go to go to the washroom or coming in and out drunk or whatever. Especially if some of the people are complete strangers. If you are expecting a pristine sleeping experience then get your own room.

I read over the op again, and I think that overall, you conducted the entire situation very poorly. The random guy made a few mistakes as well. However, the entire issue could have been prevented just from your side alone.
There is no right or wrong on whether or not to kick him out. You have the power to make either decision, and either way would be legal as well. The decision you make is more of a reflection on your personality than anything else. Personally, I share a similar opinion with QuanticHawk and few of the other posters here. You chose to relieve 100% of the consequences on the random guy instead of yourself or finding a compromise. This isn't a very pleasant thing to do, but it's understandable since after a night of no sleep, it's hard to be pleasant.
The first time I roomed with strangers, I made the same mistake in not asking whether or not people snored, or any other conditions that might affect my quality of stay. Consequently, I got no sleep for the entire night, but instead of kicking him out, I found ways to cope with the noise for the rest of the stay. I'm still a positive acquaintance with the guy.

I don't know whether you made the right decision or not, but I would never kick someone out for snoring. Anyway, please tell you friend he needs to see an otolaryngologist for snoring like that. It is not healthy.

OP:
1. First and foremost, you should have made sure you were paid upfront, by everyone. That's most important. You don't need strangers sticking you with the final bill.
2. Once the snorer said he was going to bring his girlfriend, you should have told him that you needed to check to make sure everyone had enough room to sleep/ there were enough beds or cots. A lot of rooms allow for four comfortably on the beds, and possibly one cot for a fifth, but often times you need to make sure extra amenities are available for extra people. (The knowledge to check ahead of time generally comes with experience.) If five was going to be too cramped, then you'd need to tell that guy that only four could fit and three were already confirmed. At that point, it's up to him to decide to be the fourth (without his girlfriend) or to stay with his girlfriend elsewhere (leaving you with three in the room and a larger bill to pay, but that's life).
3. One downside to inviting strangers to stay with you is that you have to put up with all their annoying habits. This includes being messy, being dirty, and snoring. You shouldn't kick out a guest just because you forgot to consider the fact he might snore.
TL;DR- Make sure the snorer and his girlfriend are paying, as it was supposedly established he would. If he refuses to pay, kick his ass out because he's riding you and your friends for a free room. If he and his girlfriend do pay, then you're stuck with them.

I've gotta say hawk's got a good point even if he's being a bit aggressive with it. He just...kicked that poor sonuvabitch out. It was "only" a communication problem and at this point I'm not sure anything could be done though. Ouch.

During dreamhack summer I slept in a 2 person room with 4 more people, three of whom I hadn't met before.
Guess what there was some snoring. I got over it. If I hadn't I would have gotten earphones earplugs or just stuffed some toilet paper into my ears.

Dear TL, today I learned what a furry convention is (and it sounds really weird to me, but who am I to judge).
About the conflict, I agree with the majority here that kicking somebody out of the room, when it had been previously arranged this way, and during an event where all other hotels are going to be full, is a dick move. Snoring happens, it's not controllable, and it's a risk you should have considered when taking a stranger along. Buy some earplugs/get drunk/deal with it would be my advise. Or at least find the guy alternative accommodation if you are going to kick him out. As it stands now, if he ends up sleeping in the street and something happens to him, you'd probably be liable..

May came around and a furry from the same state as me said he was looking for a room to stay in. I had met him once before and honestly he didn't give me a good first impression but he had a lot of money and I did not. As a means of reducing my rooming expenses, I invited him to come along.
So after booting his ass out for snoring you're sore about your plan for inviting someone along just for the money not working out because you were a total bitch?
