Moving onto the writing aspect of my last two days I have been reading On Writing by Stephen King and I finished it maybe 5 minutes prior to writing this blog. Overall it was an incredible read and even if you aren’t an aspiring writer I would recommend it. Hearing his stories and take on things was simply fascinating. He has a refreshing take on things and is not afraid to tell the truth, which was invigorating. Now I won’t go over the whole book but rest assured your money could be spent on a lot worse.
Anyways I’m going to begin writing a thousand words a day as per the advice in the book and while my efforts won’t be initially seen on this blog, they will eventually. I say this because I plan to start creating two to four thousand word stories rather than the small, small stories that I have been putting on the blog up to this point. What this means also is that there will be some down time because the editing process will be a lot more strenuous. Furthermore, this will also mean that there will be downtime between each story so that I can properly edit it (with the help of others as well). Every single story I produce over the summer, and am happy with, I will put up on this blog so that I can get your feedback and improve. After the summer the future isn’t really clear just because I will have a full course load again and that can be time consuming. I will, however, do my best to keep putting up stories and improving. While I know at this point I may not be the best writer that has ever graced teamliquid hopefully, eventually I will have some people that look forward to reading the stories that I post.
As for my current reading now that I have finished On Writing, I have began to read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I have chosen this mainly because I saw that Day[9] posted a “Why We Like It” about it so I of course have to read the book before I hear them talk about it, and of course spoil it. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to reading any suggestions or notifications of my horrible grammar in this thing (I apologize).
