Also, I"m thinking of trying out some casting! I'm still gonna be pretty newby at talking interestingly (although I think I know enough stuff about the game to cast successfully) so once I actually do some casting feedback would be greatly appreciated! If anyone here has tried some casting, I'd also be very thankful for some tips ;D.
Anywho, today's battle report time! The game today was a PvT, and although I won't give out any spoilers yet, I'll just show this particularly photogenic marauder, who to me totally looks like he's dancing in the super-intense spotlight.

The Game
Early Game
+ Show Spoiler +
The game is on Neo Planet S, and it starts out nice and normally just as I like it. Johnson gets in for easy scouting as per usual, and I see myself a gas terran. Reaper opening, woo! Easiest opening to play against for me.
Johnson sees your shit, and he approves.
Mike and Emily hit the field spot on as per usual, and eventually deal with the reaper while protecting all of my precious probes <3.
Hey guys what u- *boom*
I poke in with Johnson to confirm that the terran is expanding, and once I confirm it, I proceed to pull probes out of gas (1 in each), throw down my expo AFAP, and create no more combat units at all until I'm comfortably teched up. I like it. It's going pretty well.
In the meanwhile, that sneaky little terran was being devious after his expansion. After cutting quite a few SCVs, the terran went for an extremely fast factory and starport. He pumped out 1 or 2 widowmines, made a couple of marines, and even rallied a medivac nearby. I think it was a pretty smart move for him to not wait for the medivac and drop (like so many people would) but rather move out faster, hoping to catch me off without an observer.
I'm a mine, that shoots missiles! Fuck you and your logics!
My first observer, whom I hereby dub "Snowden", catches a quick glance of the first attacking units on his way to the terran natural. A second observer is quickly boosted out as well so that I can keep my scout active sooner. By the way, don't get on my back if I make any sort of joke about Snowden spying on you, I just named the observer Snowden, any actions by Snowden in game is of no correlation to the real Edward J. Snowden hiding about and escaping from 'Murica at this time.
I've been checking your blogs, and I can't help but notice that you're using the word "mines" a lot... are you a terrorist? Just checkin', ya know.
The terran has a few more forces than I do because I focused all on econ/tech, but luckily I have photon overcharge at my disposal, easily forcing the terran away. My 2nd observer also completes, rendering his rush useless thus far.
"Lol look I'm connected to the nexus." ~ Dead Marine #1
As the terran's medivac comes he picks up 2 widow mines for a quick drop. I still only have Mike and a sentry to defend, but I pull probes away and only lose 1 worker to the mines. Overall, the rush was pretty ineffective.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE medivac speed lul
Mid Game
+ Show Spoiler +
I actually utilized a zealot harass today guys! While it was very minor, I warped in 1 zealot and killed a couple of workers/marines as his drop took place. Just a small mental victory .
Zealot seeks racial justice!
As the game moves on, I come out with a tech advantage (especially in upgrades), while the terran has earlier bases. He doesn't actually have as many workers to support them, however.
Now the terran went in for a big drop play. I fall victim to his merciless 2-pronged attack, failing miserably to take ample forces to both areas. I focus more on the attack from the front (I DONT WANNA LOSE NATURAL!) and as a result lose a few buildings in my main.
WHY ARE DROPS SO GOOD WHY!!!
During this drop, my building placement that I have been working on devoutly both helped and screwed me over. It screwed me over because I accidentally created a wall with my nexus that made my forces have to move AROUND the buildings to get to the drop. It helped because all the enemy could really target was gateways, pylons, or my forge, rather than my O-so-important robotics bay. Keeping tech on the inside ftw!
Next time lets try to make a defender's advantage.
At this point my enemy FINALLY comes ahead of me in worker count because he has his 3rd up. I feel like I'm a lot further behind than I actually am (I was ahead), but I decided that it'd be a good idea to counter attack. I saw that he lacked forces compared to me, and I decided to just go for it and crush him before he could sieze hold of the advantage that I thought he had.
Colololsus and zeeeeeelots!
End Game
+ Show Spoiler +
As I move forward for the attack to kill him, I make sure to utilize some basic but critical positioning. Zealots lead the way, followed by the stalkers to kill off vikings, and finally my colossi trail in the back.
Phalanx using micro? What's this black magic!
My meatshield zealots force the terran forces to run way the fuck back away, and at the same time my buildup of stalkers cleans up his viking count pretty well. He didn't have any medivacs at all nearby because his only 1 left was being used for a drop against me (which was handled with some overcharge! ).
GET OUT!
I route his forces away at his 3rd, decimate the scv line, and proceed to besiege his natural while waiting for archon reinforcements to arrive.
He pulls everything he's got to try to hold at his bunker, but sadly the power of target firing scvs with colossi is too much for even the OP terran forces to stand up to.
Target fire OP.
Characters (new!)
+ Show Spoiler +
From today on I've decided to name more of my units, because why not become attached?? So yeah. Look forward to more of them getting nicknames!
Johnson, the lovable 1-st scouting probe! Dream profession is Aiur Head Chef.
Mike the stalker. Hardest working of them all, and single-handedly preventing scouting and pressure, while receiving the least credit.
Emily, the mothership core. Has a secret love for education, but quickly gets out of hand and fires photons all over the place if pissed off.
I really realize that this game wasn't nearly as close as I thought it was while I was in game. It was in fact fairly 1-sided near the end. However, the situation that I thought the game was in definitely helped me make the right decision.
So yeah. Hopefully I'll get into trying some casting soon, and if I enjoy it enough (and I'm good enough ) I may just switch these dailies over to doing a casting of a game instead of a battle report. Listening always seems to be easier anyways!
Thanks for reading as per usual, don't forget to leave some feedback if you've got the time! Have a great day!
