Hey guys, this question has come up a lot, whether it's my username, other peoples' usernames, or just a name somebody came up with for something. This question is "where is it from?" I don't think I need to explain this one.
My username came from an anime called "Eden of the East". it's my favorite anime so far, and the main character gets the nickname of "Air King" because he saves a city from being destroyed by missiles, and he did it anonymously, so that's why they gave him that nickname. Not only that, but he couldn't be identified because he had many fake names in the past because he was a terrorist. nobody knew his real name, and nobody knew what his real personal information was either.
now lets hear from you guys

I don't understand anime. Are you sure he's not just a guy?

A dude in dota 1 was named SoulSniper and he kicked my ass so I naturally became SnipedSoul.

He got his ass kicked by a guy named SoulSniper. Thus, out of respect for the ass whoop, he named himself SnipedSoul...I don't see how you don't get it, lol.
Or maybe you do .

ehm.. Mine's quite simple:
1) Lots of people call me maestro irl; 2) We often use the expression "that sounds like music to my ears"; 3) People noticed I was someone who could pick up any game/sport/.. and get used to it like.. at an incredible rate, apparently, my opinion's not so bright about that but yeah.. 4) The word maestro: (cp from wiki to make it easy) (from the Italian maestro, meaning "master" or "teacher"[1]) is a title of extreme respect given to a master musician, I personally made a link between this point, my 2nd point and the 3rd point. + the fact people call me maestro a lot irl, not just friends but also like shop owners from around the neighborhood all know me as the maestro, no idea why though, I guess I'm more famous and likeable than I think I am haha, but yeah, hence my nickname simply being MaeStrO.

Used final fantasy names all my childhood.
One day playing halo i realised i sucked.
Called myself Capped so i was dead in advance.
Auron still better.

My real name mixed with Sephiroth from FFVII. Obvious to me, but literally no one ever gets it, at least IRL. It's even worse because Roth is viable lastname in Swedish, so a ton of people thought my name was Tobias Roth through all of high school.
I'm also using Relaxalisk for smurfs etc, which is obviously a mix of relax and hydralisk.

Kommatiazo is Greek for "to shred" or something close to that, and I play guitar a lot. And as a name it sounds cool IMO. But most importantly to me: No one else on the internet uses this name. If you google "Kommatiazo" you get some TL posts and my SC2 account I think. Pretty proud of that.

The first game I played online was Day of Defeat (world war 2 fps if you dont know) and Shellshock sounded like a cool war name to me when I was 12. I'm bad at coming up with names so I just kept it. People on the ladder always ask me if it's from Ninja Turtles so sometimes I just go with that.

When I got into casting I wanted a less "made up" handle.
My Finnish family (including mother) have called me Josu my whole life + Show Spoiler [background] +I'm Finnish American. My frist name is Joshua (which is really hard to pronounce in Finnish - they don't really have a SH sound and J's are pronounced as Y's). It also seems nicknames are pretty common here (at least amongst my family) and so I'm Josu Since the Finnish J is pronounced as Y in English I thought Yosu would make a decent nickname. (Some of it also had to do with what was available on twitch and TL.)

Mix of my first and last names IRL.

My family name/surname is Gower and I have no imagination.
edit: I have recently started using WTFPotato in other games because I like how it sounds.

Runescape. It was '08/9 and a girl I liked named Kalle played RS so I decided I should play too. I sat for the longest time trying to figure out a name. I ended up wanting Sniper but I didn't like how the i looked in Sniper so i went with Snyper. Of course that was taken so I added numbers and thus became Snyper064. Got addicted to the game and then name changing came out and I decided that numbers are for newbs and I wanted more emphasis at the end of my name, so I became iTz Snypah. Then battle.net wouldn't let me have a space in my name T.T

When i was at school we all played FF7 in my class and we had a guy that just look like Vincent (like really, he even had the red cloack and the scarf always on). And we started to pick nicknames for everyone on criteria (Obviously we had a Tifa named after her... attributes).
I had my hair shaved at the time. I became "Rude".
FFW => Final fantasy warriors. My first BW clan (also it wasn't even BW at the time. Just SCVanilla)
