Hey TL :D I have an ultra silly name for this recipe:
INGREDIENTS
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 2 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 cup of orange juice
- zest from 1/2 an orange
- 2 bartlett pears (or bosc pears), peeled
- 1 tablespoon of mascarpone cheese
- 2 cups of red wine
- 1 cup of orange juice
PROCEDURE Prep time will take about 10 minutes. Cook time will be about 20 minutes. This makes 4 servings. (1/2 pear each) Calories per serving: ~170 calories
- Cut peeled pears in half.
- Scoop out the seeds of the pears.
- Pour red wine and orange juice in a pot.
- Place pears in the pot. Set the pot on medium heat.
- Add in your pinch of salt, honey, vanilla, and orange zest.
- Poach pears in the liquid for about 20 minutes. Occasionally spoon the wine over the pears.
- Remove poached pears from the pot and place each
- Sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Place a mascarpone cheese in the pitted center of the pear.
- OPTIONAL: Garnish with a orange wedge and additional honey.
- Eat!
Ta-da!

om nom nom. Thanks for another awesome recipe. I actually got around to cooking one of your recipes a few weeks back, the chocolate gluten free pancakes. They were fantastic. My family then cooked the left over batch but didn't know to have them with honey/mascarpone cheese. They didnt like them so much
Mascarpone cheese is a pretty cool ingredient, something I hadn't used much before, so i'll definitely give this recipe a shot. Soon™.
edit: now that I think about it, I did your spaghetti carbonara most recently. That too was brilliant. I liked the cooked egg and the lighter sauce, although it was quite salty with that amount of bacon. Overall really enjoyable though and filling!

Interesting. I also made wine poached pears this weekend. How was the texture on your pears? Many recipes I read said to avoid using bartlett pears because they are too soft.

flank steak: Almost impossible to get in Germany. You actually have to go and find a butcher who does his own butchering, then explain which part of the cow you want, argue against their disbelief and then you might actually get some.

I read it was wine poached Bears.
was disappointed =(

The texture was soft, but it still had some structural integrity. They definitely were not mushy.
