My router is shot , and I won't be able to get one until the afternoon tomorrow, and I'm afraid that means our meeting is shot as well. Sorry about that, this couldn't have been worse timing haha.

First of all, i had fun. That is always good. I liked the setting, and i liked the adventure. It was a bit too much combat in my opinion, but that is usually the case. Two scenes i specifically liked were the chase through the city in the end, and the scene in the infected bunker. One thing is that i felt that combat was slightly clunky, and not necessarily because of the rules. Basically, i think it would have been better to go from person to person a bit quicker. The breaks in between each of your actions were a bit too long in my opinion, and i think that could be improved. Partially it was a lack of knowledge of the rules on our part that made everything take a bit longer then needed, but i think it could be greatly reduced with a bit of streamlining of the process. For example, just having a turn order and you calling names quickly, and then have everyone have one shorter action instead of multiple long kind of unrelated combat sequences would make it feel more like everyone is playing at the same time instead of having to wait until it is your turn again. This would also help with the fact that this freeflowing turn system usually tends to favor people who talk a lot over the quieter ones. I have tried to hold back a bit, but i still feel that i stole a bit too much of the spotlight here. One disadvantage we have in online play is that it is incredibly hard(or basically impossible) to have multiple discussions at the same time. On a table, usually when the dm is occupied with one player for a while, i just roleplay something on the side with one of the other unoccupied people, but that is really hard over the internet. I tried doing that in the chat a bit this time, but it is a lot harder then just leaning over to the side. I think the sweet spot here is making each persons turn take at most 1-2 minutes, which should be possible. Of course a lot of that comes just with getting used to the system, but it is something that should be kept in mind. I know that i myself am also guilty of this, and will definitively keep that in mind in future games we play where i dm. But overall, i had a lot of fun, and some scenes were pretty memorable and cool, especially the two i mentioned before. It was very obvious that you put a lot of thought and preparation into this game, and it showed.

I don't know if you guys can edit mythweaver sheets that I upload, if that's not possible, we'll have to find another method to edit them. I'll update this post as I get more character sheets uploaded. n_n Sven's Cleric: The little dwarf who could (but didn't want to) http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=749881 Jack's Half-Orc Ranger: "Uh, Shakespeare? What kind of beer is that?" http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=749918 Andrew's Samurai: "Banzaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=751104 Finn's Mystic: "But what does "it" mean?" http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=752683 Murgel's Adventurer: "If you play with my ears one more time, I will cut you!" http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=753237

Also, I'll probably compile some stuff regarding general background information that your characters would know and upload it. I.e. what does a noble dwarf priest usually do, more information on the god he worships, how character specific rules work, etc. I just need to rip the pages out of my pdfs. n_n Shouldn't be more than 5-10 pages for each hero. If you guys could find the time to read that, that'd be great, but I'll probably go over it again anyway.

Also, principles don't make for boring characters. In my opinion a character without principles is boring, because there is no conflict, he has nothing to lose, he is basically just a soulless psychopath running aimlessly around. Lawful and good can sometimes get in conflict, what if following the law leads to bad things? In a complex world, never doing any wrong isn't really possible. Does the paladin really just follow his codex to the letter, no matter the consequences? Even if it leads to bad things happening? Or does he try to actually be good, even if that forces him to disregard his codex? There are so many moral problems a lawful good paladin can have, they are just not on the usual axis of egoism vs altruism (which really doesn't lead to complex problems in the first place), but on a different axis orthogonal to that one. Also, if you give me background to read, i will read it. So hand over that stuff. I've got a few questions regarding my character sheet. What is the relation between rounds/turns/minutes? If a spell says "Subject gains +4 to Str for 1 min./level.", or something similar, what is the "level" in there? I don't appear to have any gear except for the " fine two handed hammer of crushing" (Which is utter nonsense, that is quite obviously the Conclusively Holy Hammer of Harold the Hasty, or CH4). Does this mean we go with the usual "reasonable" gear solution? Or am i a naked dwarf with a big hammer? Furthermore, i don't agree with your assessment that i have an irritating personality. Just because i tend to be right and have to explain it to those buffoons over and over does not make me irritating. After all, an irritating person wouldn't have become a faithful priest keeping the secrets under the mountains secret. They wouldn't really be secrets if i told them to you, would they? So of course i can't explain to you why i am right, it is secret. How anyone could be so stupid as to not understand that is beyond me, but i assume it has something to do with your low birth, the blood shows after all.

For those who want to do a little reading I actually found an online version of the basic Ad&d books that you can dig through without getting anything spoiled anything. It's a little slow but if you don't feel like torrenting the books in pdf form (roughly 30mb, so nothing too bad for everyone except Andrew. ) I have some more nice stuff about dwarven deities for you Sven, but it's a shitty pdf that I created by cropping screenshots from the original one together. http://www.sendspace.com/file/092zys + Show Spoiler + The set of principles that structures a paladin's life and regulates his behavior is called an ethos. While an ethos may encompass the written laws of society, its scope is much broader, incorporating spiritual edicts and moral absolutes to form an ethical ideal. A paladin's ethos defines his attitudes, shapes his personality, and influences virtually every decision he'll ever make. Though a guiding ideology is certainly not unique to paladins, the paladin's ethos differs from that of other character classes in two significant ways. First, the paladin's ethos is complex, comprising a long list of general guidelines and specific rules. Second, the paladin's ethos is uncompromising, requiring absolute dedication. Violations have severe consequences, ranging from reprimands to suspensions of privileges. Extreme violations may result in a complete loss of status and permanent removal of all his special abilities. Still, the paladin considers his ethos a privilege, not a burden. To him, all conduct has a moral quality. Every action is a choice between right and wrong. With justifiable pride, he considers himself an embodiment of the highest standards of human behavior. We begin with the three general components of the paladin's ethos: strictures (formal rules), edicts (commands from authorities), and virtues (behavioral values). The final section explains how a paladin may violate his ethos, and suggests suitable punishments and atonements. Quoted from the 3rd Chapter of the paladin Manual. Of course this is all subject to change and you can homebrew edit the rules as you want, but per official DnD canon paladins adhere to a strict code dictated by their god. The gods that paladins usually adhere to all hail from Mount Celestia, the territory of the lawful good guys. Now it's important to understand how DnD alignments work.Being lawfully good means that you follow the rules (in this case whatever your god tells you) and that you lean toward doing things that are considered "right" or altruistic from a moral philosophic point of view. But here's the catch: Paladins don't share a set of values with us. They're a product of their respective world, so for them everything their god tells them is right and "good" (we're coming full circle here, pretty much). They're pretty much religious fanatics, so why they might occasionally find ways to slither around their code, i.e. helping a thief to prevent a bigger evil from happening, it ultimately dominates the way they have to act. A round is equivalent to about a minute of game time. A turn consists out of ten rounds. You can rename your hammer anything you want, it's pretty much your girlfriend after all. :D As for gear, you also have a shiny piece of plate armour that should be listed under the protection entry. As for random, small gear, there are tons of tables with pretty much everything you can imagine, but I was too lazy to sift through them. You can add whatever you can think of that'd be helpful within reason, I don't mind. Otherwise we'll just go with the reasonable equip rule. However I forgot to add gold, but I'll probably sort that out when we're playing. E: Done with making Andrew's character now, also I should add that having a mage would be beneficial. :D

E: Apparently mythweavers is having server troubles at the moment, so hopefully that will be fixed by tomorrow, but my router might be broken, it needs to sign into some sort of registry server every 8-10 minutes, dunno how that will affect a skype call, since it makes my internet drop for a few seconds each time.
