Hey TL! I thought I'd post here about my recent desire to better myself. I'm Tripp, if you'd prefer to call me my real name. I'm 18 years old, am a senior in high school and I am planning on becoming and EMT, and later a paramedic. As of now, I am 5'11 and I weigh ~220. (Not accurate, and I don't care for accuracy. I just want consistent weight loss.) Younger, I had problems with confidence and making friends. I had a few friends, and we are still very close. However, I've recently undergone a transformation into a somewhat social butterfly. After switching schools from a 5A school dominated by gang violence, to a 3A rural school with very few incidents of violence, I have become more open to talking to people. I'm more confident with myself, and I now am hardly ever at home, due to social obligations. I feel much happier with myself, but I have a few things to work on, one being my aforementioned weight problem, as well as a smoking problem. I currently smoke nearly a pack a day. In order to lose weight, and become a healthier person, I have started very recently a low carb diet. I plan on starting with an extremely low amount of carbs for quick, early weight loss, and I will then slowly add carbs until I am losing weight, maintaining decreased insulin production, increasing my metabolism yet still take in a healthy amount of carbs. I plan on pairing this with regular exercise on a rowing machine, as well as incline on a treadmill. My goal is to feel better, become less lazy, be more confident about my appearance and eventually resume my passion of baseball in an adult league. (Which is about equal to my passion for esports, which I spread every day I wear one of my esports related shirts/hoodies.) As for smoking, I do have a problem. I am addicted, and aware of it. I plan to start by smoking less and less, and maybe adding in some form of distraction from it such as chewing gum more often. If any TLer's have experience with quitting smoking, any help is greatly appreciated. I'm doing this blog as a bit of motivation for me to continue my improvement. Any help in terms of what to eat, what to do to make workouts easier would be lovely. If anyone is interested in doing something similar, send me a PM. I think it'd be much easier to meet goals if I had someone else trying to meet goals with me.
Also, I'm going to include a quote in every blog I make.
"Vision without execution is hallucination." - Thomas Edison
It's time I execute.
On an irrelevant note: Who am I going to see at MLG Dallas? I'm so excited. Hopefully, I'll be a little slimmer by the time that comes around.
Edited to place something somewhere more appropriate.
