In our post Valentine's Day blogosphere, there've been many sad stories of devastation, be it through failed courtship or a bat to the head. Here's a more lighthearted contribution to the Kingdom of the Single.
Couple years back, I was sitting around probably playing SC2 when my roommate, let's call him Yogg, suggests that I should go to the international student party with him. Now I'm the most chobo party-goer you could possibly conceive of - I slide away from the crowd faster than unwanted egg on Teflon. Nevertheless, I decided to go because Yogg can make any party sound like a glorious proposition.
Nothing much happens at the party, which turns out to be more of a social. There was this really cute Japanese girl, who I proceeded to add on Skype and Facebook but who shall not be named because that was the first and last time I ever talked to her. What did pique my interest was that a week later, I got an invite on facebook to go to an international student dinner. Now I'm not an international student, but I'd never pass up on that opportunity. Sadly, Yogg chose not to go so I ended up soloing it.
It turned out I was the only non international student there - everyone else was from either China, Japan, or Brazil. Oh well, nothing to do but gravitate to the Chinese exchange student end of the table. There was your typical conversation and getting to know each other, and as the dinner ended, I walked out with one of the exchange student girls, we'll call her Sofia. I had started walking towards the parking lot where I had parked (a little distance away), and she had decided to come walking with me.
It was at this moment that a competing male reared his head and offered to take this girl home. We'll call him tall, not dark, and handsome. Now I'm not dark either and I may or may not be handsome, but I'm certainly not tall (5'6"). Nevertheless, Sofia declines his invitation and goes with me instead. We have a nice little convo as I drop her off at home, and later we make plans to go kayaking after break, since she was going back to China for break.
Alas, that was the last I or anyone else heard from her for quite a while, so those plans never came to fruition.
Pity.

I honestly did not expect "made plans to go kayaking" lmao. I was expecting "go get tea/coffee" or "Go see a movie" or something. Props on achieving victory that night without any real effort though. You just WERE smooth and got the girl, you didn't have to try like Mr. Tall, not-dark, and handsome. Way to be.

Good on you for using "pique" instead of the incorrect "peak".
And for getting the girl. That's always a good moment isn't it: she declines the other guy and you play it off like it was an inevitable nothing—all the while secretly thinking "yes yes yes fuck yes I am the man you're damn straight I am taking you home f yeah".
Edit: now searching for "girl blog" and going to post in all of them. Go TL.
Edit 2: WTF there are like 5 girl blogs per day now? Wowee.

God, all of these are like 20 page epics. There should be a redux version for the benefit of commenters with a limited capacity for sifting the minutiae of a stranger's love life. I struck out at 2.

hahaha I like the classification system. I think those tags would catch 90% of girl blogs. seems most (maybe vast majority, by word count) would be [2Fast].
