Trip to Hong Kong

Firstly, a little introduction about myself. I found TL through BW and I frequented the forums up until the last few months. I've been in TL for more than two years now but this is my first blog and my first OP ever

In March 22 of last year, me and my family got on board a plane to our first overseas trip ever. We traveled to the mystical land of Singapore (prior to booking for the flight, I had absolutely no idea what Singapore even looked like) and it became a magical experience. Me and my family knew essentially nothing, so the trip became one surprise after another and to this day, I can remember things very clearly.

So after 11 months, we're back in to travel some more, this time to Hong Kong. The question that I want to ask is if we need to bring winter clothes (aka jackets, sweaters). We're going to be in Hong Kong from Feb. 27 to March 2. The issue for us is we come from a tropical climate and our perception of warm and cold climates can be different from say guys from northern Europe.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hong Kong is gonna be really cold for those who comes from SEA area
the temperature isn't that low but the wind and the dryness makes it a lot colder than you would expect from just reading the temperature.
It has been getting much colder recently and much more windy due to the change in season (we have seasonal winds that are especially strong during Feb).

I would advice you to wear two to three layers of warm cloths (those which can keep the heat in) and wear some wind proof jacket. Gloves won't be that necessary. The wind is the biggest issue, so anything that can block against the wind, it will be good.

I normally go out with a shirt, a sweater, a jacket that is thin but blocks out wind and I don't feel too cold.

Hong Kong is a nice place to go, I hope you get to explore more than just the shopping areas though! Don't expect it to be too different to Singapore if you are here for the shopping malls haha

Nice, thanks! I can only compare temperatures in Hong Kong to Baguio city which gets temperature readings in the same range. This will continue through to the end of the month right?

Of course we'll be exploring more than just shopping malls. Their sprouting like mushrooms over here and that's the last thing I want to see. We entered one in Singapore but we didn't buy anything (shit is expensive) and it wasn't really in our plan. I (and I guess the rest of the family) want to try the cuisine there. We heard its very good.

Any reason why you're going there in winter? It's a really cool city, but I would recommend going there in spring/autumn... Too hot for my nordic snowskin in summer
