Things focused on: Protoss step 3 (The Staircase)
Completion of Focus: Mixed, but still on Step 3 (zealots and stalkers only)
End of Day Placement: Silver 443 (up a little)
So far I'm quite liking Protoss. I'm starting to get the hang of the whole warp in thing and keeping my SQ up at the same time. (It's no different than normal other than the fact that it's backwards, you still need the same surges of money at the same time you just get the unit right away rather than waiting for them to train)
After a warm up game I started playing and wasn't doing too bad. A couple of games I didn't play so well and my SQ was in the low 70's. One of those games was because I was focusing REALLY hard on keeping my nexus energy down and chrono boosting properly which was my biggest problem today even keeping me from passing a few games that should have been passes in other respects. And there was some improvement there which is good, now I just have to put the pieces together to move on to step 4.
Couple of interesting games today. Firstly was one of my favorites, my opponent stuck his foot in his mouth. God I love when that happens! It was PvT and he wasn't really turtling, but I was sending wave after wave of zealot stalker at him in smallish groups to try and wear him down and keep him at home while I kept taking expansions. Anyway I ended up not having the money output I was expecting near the end of the game (didn't move some probes properly) I was having issues with making units fast enough for my liking and my waves kind of fizzled out. (I think the problem mostly was the fact I went from mining on 2.5 bases to only 2 and couldn't keep up the production) Anyway he moved out with a small group of marines, marauders, medivacs and a tank. He takes out a small group that was on it's way and then throws out the bm "gg." He runs into a group of stalkers about halfway to my base and takes them out and then I warped in more as he got there which took out the rest of his guys. His "big" attack that was supposed to kill me managed to take out my 2 forward pylons and nothing else. hahahaha I then walked all over him because I was mining off of 2 bases and he had completely run out of money. Yay macro!
The other interesting game is a lot quicker to explain. It was PvT again and he did not move a single unit out of his base that wasn't in a medivac. He did THREE different drops dropping most every kind of unit he had at one point in time. Which I thought was odd because it was damn near dropping for dropping sake because I didn't have much in the way of defenses. So when he beat me I couldn't help but say something in jest about it so I mentioned something about his units having feet and being able to walk across the map on their own then told him good game and quit. Apparently he got all pissed at me for this (I wasn't mad and don't think it sounded like anything other than a joke) and had to say something about it after the game when I then explained to him that I thought it was funny. Then he went on to give a bunch of "reasons" why that was the best play, but it basically sounded like he just liked doing drops, like pretty much all Terrans do.
So now my focus is to continue working on step 3 and to concentrate on keeping nexus energy down while still macroing. When I get to step 4 I think I will spend some time working on scouting with a probe while macroing, scouting is definitely something I am NOT good at and I don't even bother for the most part other than finding my opponent on non 2 player maps.
