(I'm posting this as a blog as I wasn't sure where else to put it.)

With so much going on recently regarding SlayerS and the confusion of people (and myself) about what happened when, I decided to put down a timeline of events involving or pertaining to SlayerS with links (where available). I then spent quite some time putting in all the puzzle-piece tidbits (in italic font) I could glean from the following pertinent threads of late (and elsewhere):

+ Show Spoiler [thread links] +

Was the beginning of the refusal of other teams to practice with Slayers really already at the end of 2011? I thought this only started with the NASL argument. But if so, then why was there already a practice ban in 2011?

Now instead of bitching about who was at fault, we can actually think about the memories SlayerS gave us.

This is where Jessica was a bit imprecise and ambiguous in her various interviews. She said the following in her reply to the preliminary response from ESF in this thread:

http://www.playxp.com/sc2/bbs/view.php?article_id=4190932&search=3&search_pos=&q=

[...omitted...]

It was temporary?

The NASL Season 3 Finals were in July. [Note: She may mean Season 1 or Season 2, given the other dates in the post]

The penalty on our team started after the preliminaries [Note: she may mean regular season] were over, so it must have began at latest by June?
Maybe even before then, but I forget the exact date when the preliminaries ended.

I knew that it was refusal to practice, but I didn't think it would be so severe.
I decided that I couldn't just let it be, and went to talk to coach Won about the serious ostracizing problem in December of last year (we moved the team house on Dec 28th, and I met him in Yeo-ui-Do where our team house was then).
There, I first informed him of our team's stance.
You told me without shame, that it's cheap of you to do so, but you would resort to it to sanction SlayerS.
I couldn't get you to remove the ban, and I continued to appeal it after we moved our team house.

In February, Ryung needed to prepare for a TvT, but I heard that he couldn't find any Terrans. (At the time, Genius had practiced with MMA for the semi-finals, but when Ryung asked MVP players for practice in TvT, he couldn't get help).
Our team's Terrans had a lot of different things on the schedule, so I told him to practice with his friends on other teams, but I learned that we were still being ostracized and banned from practice.

I gave final notice to Mr. Won who as at tournament in the USA at that time, and I finally received an email on March 27th that it had been lifted.
Temporary? That's at least 10 months by rudimentary calculation.

Do you want me to reveal the truth?
Head Coach Won.
I told you clearly, it was something that a Startale player told one of our players very recently.
For whatever reason, acting like a bully can't be forgiven.

So she's actually saying that there was ostracizing even last year (also in February 2012) all the way back to NASL Season 1. She guesses it started at the latest by June 2011, which fits with her later count of 10 months (June, July, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March) until allegedly lifted on March 27. Reasons are the same: SlayerS broke boycott of NASL (S1, S3-) and did not join SC2CON/ESF. Also rough start with the GanZi incident in the beginning.

Is there an audio version of the phone call between Crank, Jessica, and Boxer?

Jessica said this in her interview in response to Crank's statement:
Q: Are you thinking about releasing the audio file if needed?

A: If I need to sue him on the court, I may need to release it.

Yeah, I guess it's pretty clear that the Razer contract lasted for a year, so until February 15, 2012. What I find curious is that it was said to be a personal sponsorship for BoxeR, yet the entire team (all the players) also wore Razer patches, shirts, and hats etc. Maybe there was a team clause with the personal sponsorship just like with Intel.

True. SC2CON wanted to boycott NASL S1, but for one reason or another didn't follow through with it eventually. They did ask SlayerS to not take part, but main sponsor Intel had already paid for flights.

I'm confused about the Season 1 NASL thing. Didn't Startale players also participate in it? Squirtle in fact made it to offline finals if I'm correct.

I've been wondering that myself. I guess he just slowly faded from the public eye.

Last we heard from him was when he was interviewed after having successfully qualified for Code A for Season 2, only to be dropped to Code B again on April 17 this year. He tried to go through the Code A qualifiers again for Season 3 and Season 4, but did not make it beyond Ro4 and Ro8, respectively.

What did Alicia do that would require legal action?

It was never made public so far. Jessica only hinted at something that may or may not come out in the future.

We also still haven't heard where Alicia will be going, even though it was said he had found a new "overseas team".

Sad. Slayers was an integral part of starcraft 2 history--actually, one of the defining moments of the nascent sc2 scene in korea. Had Intel not decided to sponsor a team for Boxer, I don't think starcraft would have gotten as big as it did in korea, even though it is still comparatively small. Actually, I don't even think starcraft would have survived if it wasn't for slayers. I don't have much evidence for this claim--in fact, there's a decent amount of evidence to the contrary--but as a fan of boxer and the mystique surrounding him, I like to believe as such. Slayers fighting!

I believe you're talking about SC2 when you say "starcraft". Well, BoxeR was actually one of the most influential people to even establish RTS e-sports in Korea in the first place. He helped the competitive Broodwar scene to flourish for over a decade there (even (Wiki)Air Force ACE was created because of him). Fortunately, he isn't gone. He has just returned to the team he created many years before SlayerS: (Wiki)SK Telecom T1 (which now also plays SC2).

His much criticized decision to give up his KeSPA progamer license in late 2010 to create a new SC2 team certainly helped the new GOM leagues on the way in terms of popularity (primarily with foreign fans), especially GSTL which SlayerS won twice in 2011. But they weren't the only team. In fact, most of the now well-known non-KeSPA teams had already been established when SlayerS came into being. Nonetheless, you're correct in saying that BoxeR has done a lot for competitive RTS gaming. And I am glad he is still around, even though he may not play as a progamer himself anymore.
