MVP had so many brilliant plays and i think the finals recapper failed to mention that if MVP split his vikings in the first two games than he may of been able to win. in addition, it should have been noted that the exact amount of MVPs drone kills(anywhere from 11-40) strongly predicted how the game would play out, and that the BFH build got dimishing returns. Also you can't say
Slightly puzzling? That shuts down any greediness or early 2rax, the two scary things terran players and MVP have shown they like to pull out at crunch time.
SUCH A GOOD FINALS though. and the recap is by no means bad. And I think in the first games MVP may have disillusioned himself into thinking that he could hide his vikings behind siege tanks so they couldn't get fungled, but that didn't work.
Life is good. Mvp is so good. SC2 is so good. Dying? in the same way Life is dying(hint: Life is 15 and the average human lifespan is more than 3 times that so haha)

There is a little part of Tasteless in me. Tasteless doesn't play the game a lot a lot, only some, and he doesn't really go on reddit or TL(though it is evident he does every once in a while). Tasteless uses SC2 as a job, and his major in BW and casting made it so he is perfectly fit for the job. Likewise, I grew up in America, where KH and Pokemon were epic at the end of the games because of the storyline(even if the games were easy), TV is watched with similar storylines(naruto, DBZ), and sports are prolific(I played soccer and enjoy watching it a little). This is like my major, and it qualifies me to enjoy, even when I am horrendously busy, reading GSL previews and watching GSL(I don't watch TV, have my computer hooked up to tv). I almost exclusively follow GSL and watch weekend tourneys sometimes. Me and Tasteless are similar because we view the community from a very detached state. Regardless of what is going on, we're both gonna go on doing what we're doing in RL and related to SC2.
There is a little part of Artosis in me. I will go on days where I have much time free and I'll steal builds from protoss. After doing this, and even for other races, I will begin to recognize builds and strategies as microcosms of bigger ideas in progaming and starcraft strategy. We both also understand what players need to do when they are failing, and what they were trying to do when they are failing. Furthermore, we like to have fun during SC2. Rather than complaining about how TvZ is norush10mins(which I don't even do in the first place), we'll talk about how the startale player is fighting for his LIFE or if these starcraft players were on sale who would cost more(hint: mvp=most valuable player). Actively trying to improve the starcraft community in a way suitable to us while maintaining a general seperation from the drama and whining in the community is me and artosis.
There is a little part of Day9 in me. Even though I center my life around the game, I also go above the standard SC2 jargon. If nothings going on, I study TL history like the blackout OSL or the legend that is mitsy. I'll read girl blogs, and write my own, similar to day9s wonderful stories he tells. Even if either one of us is going out of style(many people say day9 is becoming less popular), we're never gonna be off the radar of TL and SC2. It's just impossible.
I hope I've predicated myself enough.
MVP vs Life was an absolutely epic finals. The strategy was intense and immensely entertaining:
-Some of Life's builds were very hard to punish forms of greed that MVP was sometimes successful(Basically the amount of success the BFH build had) at still punishing.
-Life was being super smart and predicting greed or cheese with a 10 pool, and then relied on starpower to ensure that didn't hinder him.
-How to deal with infestors and BL(from MVPs point of view): Maintain a stronger ground army of mech and keep your vikings behind the tanks. Eventually MVP figured out to spread his vikings too.The tanks maintained a very well thought out status of not being sieged or being sieged depending on the situation, and deterred infestors a significant amount.
- Both MVP and Life were put in situations where there was only one option that could be a winning move, and they took it, even if it didn't win the game. They know what they can do in a situation, and they do it to their best ability. Gotta admire that.
Could MVP of won every game he lost? Yes, for varying reasons that vary even more in the difficulty of fixing the mistake he made. Could Life of played better? I would argue his extreme ladder warrior side was showing. He had greedy but somehow stable builds and a remarkable grasp of the fundamentals of his playstyle(compared to MKP, who has an aggressive playstyle but doesn't understand it).
The finals, and the hype, and the crowd, and the games, were wonderful. I was shaking with andrenaline as soon as game 3 ended(yeah, one sided finals do suck, I admit it coughseedvsmccough).
I'm not even going to directly refute these posts:

well , not so amazing finals , not because of the players playing bad or something , just that festor+BL is the most boring thing to watch ever.
no baneling bombs , no amazing muta harrass , not a fun final in my opinion... nothing to blame on the players as they did what they had to do in order to take the series but right now SC2 may be a balanced game but its definitely stale to watch sometimes.

That was one of the silliest Bo7s I've seen in a long time. It wasn't terrible like Inca vs Nestea, but it was so boring that MVP went 1 rax expo, then 2fact bf hellion into mech or 1/1/1 into mech every single game. Every game MVP lost was for the same reason, and every game he won he was able to kill a bunch of drones early. Was so hyped for this finals, pretty disappointed. I miss marines

Entertaining finals but I really wanted MVP to win. I will be hated for this but I just thought MVP played better. With all the drone kills, missing spines, just throwing away lings and resources... No I´m not a pro but I do feel the Zerg race is a bit too much atm.

Boring finals. Games were pretty one-dimensional. Last game was just silly.
*Shrugs* Congrats Life, but this is not one of the GSL finals I'll be making an effort to remember.
On the upside, they had some cool lighting.

Although this was a 7 game series I felt the games themselves were fairly one-sided; game seven was probably the only game that was somewhat close. Every game was essentially MVP doing some harass and then hitting his mech timing and either winning the game with the attack, or losing the game shortly after the attack was defended. There was never a situation where both players came out even after a major engagement.

I will say this: People on TL, and especially those with a lower post count, love the endless Jeremiad of SC2. Destiny talks about SC2's future and creates a section of posters that legitamately believe SC2 is dying. BL infestor has not been fully solved(I would argue it shouldn't, for balance) by any terran and can't be stopped everytime because one side gets the advantage: Sections of posters believe SC2 is either boring because of this, or imbalanced, or badly designed.
These posters wouldn't know a good RTS game if it was right in front of their face.
Which it is.
Summary
I consider my opinions on the finals to be comprised of what well know people in the community would feel or think
Incontrol allows me to appreciate the hype leading up to and during the GSL finals.
Tasteless allows me to be realistic about what happened and see the hyperbolic negative position the community takes
Artosis allows me to appreciate the strategy of the games, and recognize the games were not simple and one sided or an example of infestor brood being unstoppable.
Day9 allows me to just have fun on TL and not be completely SC2 focused.
I state the finals were fantastic
Inserted is a long list of posts accompanied by post count about the GSL finals. Note I am not high above that post count, I haven't been around long enough to have an infallible opinion most of the time.
I conclude that the community likes to make a Jeremiad, or tale of woe, out of SC2 and furthermore they can't see the greatness of the game.
