I have been a huge sports fan my entire life and perhaps that is why starcraft 2 was so appealing when I got into it. But after years and years of arguing with co-workers over things that don't seem to matter to most of the public I decided to start my own blog.
The premise behind it (www.madfandisease.com) is that it is a blog where fans are the experts on the topics. I want normal people (with the ability to write of course) to cover every sport that is major with the occasional random sport article.
I can only cover College Football, NFL and maybe NBA. I am hoping to find some people to cover MLB, Soccer and MMA. I know this community is very good with creation and doing things like this and I am sure there are people out there that are like me on this site.
If you are interested in helping just let me know. If you aren't interested could you please let me know what you think of the blog in it's current state and anything that I could change to make it better?

You need a banner and i don't really like the right sidebar. Too cluttered.
More importantly you need navigation between sections.

Actually at one point will include eSports. Just not in the beginning. Plus what could I possibly have that this site doesn't lol

I love sc2 but for this it would have to be more mainstream sports before I felt I could work it in.

Your premise confuses me a bit. Having it written by normal people doesn't really appeal as something different because a lot of people do that in their personal blogs or for amateur sites. If that's what you're going for (normal sports blog) then you're on the right track, the rest is left to content. If you're going to appeal as a different kind of site, you'll have to switch something up, which in my opinion might be easier than making yourself known over hundreds of similar sites/competing with professional blogs.
Aesthetically, I think the right side with the alternating ads looks bad and cluttered. Otherwise it looks alright. Maybe you can change the colors up a bit because it looks a little too uniform throughout, particularly the top (maybe shade it a little lighter? i'm not sure).

I have gone back and changed the appearance. Hopefully it is now less cluttered and spread out
