Started out the morning with a sharp knock on my bedroom door. Got up, and immediately went out to run errands. Had to exchange cash for quarters with which to do laundry, and had to go to the store. Got some keys to the apartment made, and my dad got a fishtank he plans on setting up on his desk at work.
So that was that, and the rest of the day has worn on. Most of the day I sat around playing WoW (My dad resigned us both up, and he's placed a deadline on me hitting max level (Wtf? Whose dad does that (It's a lot cooler than some things he could do though)), and that requires me to get 2-3 levels a day. I would much rather be playing Starcraft, but if it's the only thing he asks of me, I'll be just fine). Around five, though, my dad hopped off to take a nap and I started playing a Minecraft map.
Seriously, totally boring day.
Then almost an hour and a half ago I went and did a little searching around and found a podcast I listened to up until around... March or May this year. I had gotten up to date on three years or more of material, and just didn't keep up with it after that. But, I went back and found this 'Critical Hit," and am listening to where I left off right now.
The show is by a group called "Major Spoilers," who are a comic and technology review site that has several podcasts out. This particular podcast is a D&D adventure. In essence, it's just an audio book with real people and a crazy adventure. Ridiculous, but it suits my taste.
Then I got on Starcraft and laddered for a bit. I'm writing this after winning two games in a row. They were both extremely sad games. The first guy one base dt-zealot pushed me while two base just before I started roaching on two bases. In the few moments before hand, I had been denied scouts, so I figured it was an air play and threw down a couple of spore crawlers. They obviously came in handy against the dts.
He just kept pushing and never expanded. Ever. Then he quit with no gg. What a manner guy.
Second game was a ZvT. This guy was a little bit better. He 2rax-expanded with no aggression. I took four bases when I saw he was walling off his nat's ramp. A five base Zerg against a two base Terran was just no contest. Massive baneling bust and instant gg.
Easy games, even though I'm playing terribly after not playing most of the Summer.
Not that I'm complaining. It felt good.
So now I'm sitting here, writing this, talking to my friend. His clan (which I was a member of for a short time) is playing a clan war tonight. From what I hear they're doing well, too.
I recall another thing that have occured the last couple of days, though. It is a huge reminder of my place in the world.
So, the years I spent at Northville I joined a Philosophy Club. Yeah, just as nerdy and lame as it sounds, and I loved every minute of it. But anyways, out of the blue around... Friday morning (So, yesterday morning) someone in that group found my email address and emailed me.
That was strange. Apparently, she got my email from my old German teacher, who sponsors the club. I emailed him at the end of the summer letting him know how I was, because he'd asked me too. So he told the club what was up with me at their first meeting.
Then (So the email I was sent says), the club proceeded to talk about what I had contributed to the group and how much it was going to suck me not being there this year.
Even to me this sounds really arrogant and egotistical. But I swear it's true.
It's a big shocker to see what a footprint I left there. I had thought I had kinda slipped by without leaving too much of a mark. Apparently not.
But we sent a couple messages back and forth, and talked about some things. Very interesting.
But then just now Vec and I were talking about the new guy in our group. If he gets up to speed fairly quickly, then we will have five people in our little group. That's a magic number, it means we can participate in Clan Wars against Vec's clan.
Anyways, I have very little else to say. I am, however, gonna go refill my drink, and play Starcraft until probably around one or two AM.
Good night ladies and gentlemen, and have a lovely evening.
P.S. The title is "Title" on purpose.
