Seriously, what are the chances that we are both alive on this life-sustaining planet, in our solar system, in the Milky Way galaxy. What are the chances that we would be alive in the same generation, what are the chances that we both love video games and real time strategy games and Starcraft 2. Wht are the chances that both of us are right here right now, with you reading this, with me typing this, what are the chances that we can both use this thing called the Internet and be on TeamLiquid. Wht are the chances that we are can both be here in 2012, with animals such as dinosaurs and reptiles being around on Earth for a fraction of the planet's geological time, with humans coming much later than both. And that we can both be here at a time of amazing social and technological revolution.
I want to thank you, just for being yourself.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger May you never take one single breath for granted God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking Loving might be a mistake, but it's worth making Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out, reconsider Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance I hope you dance
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance (Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along) I hope you dance I hope you dance (Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder, where those years have gone?)
Think about how many people have had to survive and meet each other at exactly the right time in exactly the right place to create who you are today.
Your parents: 2 Your grandparents: 4 Your great-grandparents: 8 Your great-great-grandparents: 16 p=2^x (where x = generations all the way down to the beginning of the human species)
Seriously, imagine if one of your ancestors, idk, fell off a cliff or contracted a serious disease and died or something. What if your grandmother accidentally missed a train and never had a chance meeting with your grandfather in the next city over at exactly 3:04 PM on the platform? Then where would you be?

Well, you wouldn't be here, you'd be someone else... right? so that question isn't super profound since it's like calling a number and a guy picks up, then after he picks up you're like "dude what are the odds that you'd pick up and i'd ask you this question" well you wouldn't be able to ask the question if he didn't pick up right so it's like wat. Like it's the same for "why is there something instead of nothing" and it's like "well this question is only a question because there is something" you wouldn't be able to ask it if there was nothing would you

It's a rhetorical question whose answer is meant to be about as profound as this blog. Of course you wouldn't exist. =_=
The only vaguely "profound" thing about my post is the realization that a ton of people must've fucked to produce you, which everyone already knows anyways. 15 generations = ~30,000 people. If anything bad happened to any of those people, you wouldn't exist. Everyone living today is a lucky bastard.

your very optimistic about the total absence of some form of incest then
This makes me think about one of my friends from the old days, and how funny it actually was we became friends. He was born in eastern europe and I was born in western europe. When we were babies there was a goddamn heavily guarded wall between us hehe... Funny how things go..

And also, why are everyone more than one generation away always using the train when they need to meet someone? Always!
