Now that I am starting my 2nd week of college, things have settled down for the most part. I have met quite a few people and gained quite a few connections as well. Out of the several hundred people that I met last week, I haven't really found anyone that compliments my personality.
However it's only the first week. I realize that there will be plenty of time for people's true personalities to show when they are more adjusted to college life. I expect the next month will still be very important compared to the rest of the months to find a group so I got plenty of time.
I realized unfortunately that I will only be able to stay ahead a week in advance of all my courses. Thats fine as it will give me a weeks worth extra time to review material and stuff for studying. I think ample review time slotting should help me do better on quizzes and tests to get A's.
I have smoked a ridiculous amount of marijuana this week. I cannot keep the amount up and have to cut back to a more reasonable amount in order to conserve money. By smoking a lot though, I have met the major stoner groups and prominent tokers of the weed community. I enjoy smoking with upper classmen because they are more chiller than the freshman, but sometimes I smoke with the freshman. However, I am probably going to wait a little longer before I look into the freshman class because right now, there are some people who just smooch off of the people providing. I have already done my fair share of giving to the community and due to financial foresight, I am not going to be smoking people up anymore.
I also won't have a problem finding parties because I am well connected so really I will only be doing a lot of networking over the weekend during parties, which is perfectly fine. I say that in a very conservative fashion because obviously I still am going to be meeting new people over the week, it just won't be a first rate priority anymore.
My stock portfolio is up 300USD, or about 20%. It was up closer to 400 earlier this month, but it's still a nice feeling that my portfolio is up over 10% currently. I intend to find a part time job here on the campus, but will probably be working about 8 hours a week so It won't really be an income.
This is pretty much a very organized blog of what is going on in my life right now and what I expect in the near future. Apart for what's set in motion though, now the only thing left I can do is wait and see if the decisions I made now will steer me into a better and brighter future.

Tbh, I'd think it weird if people randomly complimented my personality.
Anyway, you're right, you have plenty of time to meet people and it doesn't all magically happen at the start. Just keep doing what you like and going to your classes and you should find similarly minded people whom you might begin friendships with.
What are you studying?

Interesting blog again. Also yeah as Suc asked, what are you studying, out of curiosity?
Best of luck with your classes. It's indeed good to keep ahead if at all possible.

Going to college is like going to Hogwarts (from now on I will assume you know all the things I'mreferencing). There's a ton of space devoted to describing the first few weeks of Hogwarts evar, but then it slows down and skips some stuff over, likewise with what you share, as it becomes more commonplace you'll not see it as standing out so much.
In the later books the narrative becomes less about the environment and the stuff that's going on, and more about the characters and their development. Simply due to the author, the character progression isn't the thing that drives the story on (litterairy execution), but it should, really. Likewise, I hope that stuff becomes more about how you're dealing with and approaching the stuff you're exposed to, illiciting maturing growth.
The last bit is about killing people and making off with your best firend's sister/love. Pick one.

Is your title a reference to Eminem's Lose Yourself? Because if not, that's a big coincidence, as the second part is actually a verse from it.
As for college, it's hard, man. You should probably cut back on all the partying and smoking. Not entirely, but still. Good luck!

My friends and i all agree that this past week is definitly not normal. It was basically a "welcome to college" sort of thing. I actually was thinking of Eminem's song when I did the title. Gratz for you calling it out :D
