So this "UMS Proleague" happened right after the OSL finals in my dream. The venue looked very similar to where the OSL finals took place, though the audience had a few balconies for seating. And there was a very large audience turnout, with lots of confetti and that OSL announcer/caster guy screaming as usual.
And so there were a lot of games between a lot of great players. I think my mind was probably just reusing the OSL footage that I had seen right before sleeping. They were playing all sorts of Starcraft-related games. Brood War melee and some BW UMS. Starcraft 2 melee and its related UMS. Heck, there was even what I thought was Starcraft 3 or 4 or at least something that looked like Starcraft but was neither BW nor SC2. There may have been some alcohol provided to the audience. In general, there was a strong, ecstatic audience turnout for this celebration of all things Starcraft.
And I guess that is how I subconsciously felt about this OSL finals. It wasn't just several sets of games until some chump wins a trophy and prize money. It was something much more meaningful. It was a celebration of over a decade of progaming, with all its drama, people, fans, and passions. And I guess that feeling leaked into my dream to form this UMS Proleague.
Oh, and after that dream, I dreamed that I went on a date with a cute girl into downtown Chicago, visiting museums and trying to plan for a great dinner somewhere. I'd say that this was a nice pair of dreams.
