Greetings again TeamLiquid,
I just got home from work and I figured I'd share my little story of my drive home with you.

Just gave some random dude who was talking up La Tuna Canyon road in the 100 degree heat a ride home. He was going the same way as I was anyways so I gave him a ride. Apparently he'd been walking from Bob Hope airport (Miles away, uphill) because his credit card declined and he planned to walk all the way to Montrose in that heat (Montrose is the town I live in, it's also about 9 more miles away from where I picked him up, oh and again, it's uphill almost the entire way). On his entire walk before I picked up him not a single person stopped to offer him a ride in the blistering heat. He didn't look like some rapist or murderer, just a normal guy who looked like he just ran a marathon. It's sad that in the world we live in, not a single person is willing to go just a little bit out of their way to make a huge change in someone elses day. Maybe I'm generalizing, but this is from what I've seen in the numerous times that I've been Shit out of luck and stranded.

What a great Samaritan you are. A big applause to you. Probs saved his life for all we know, might have died of heat stroke or exhaustion.

Not sure if you're being Sarcastic or not but regardless, I would have wanted someone to do the same for me.
It wasn't really a big deal, I going that way anyways.

I applaud you for going out of your way and helping out a fellow citizen; however, what you did was brave because NOBODY knows what is behind the eyes of a person. Personally, I wouldn't pick up a stranger. I know I know, people should give others the benefit of the doubt, but you can never be too careful.

Most people would not go out of their way probably because they don't give a shit about anyone else, but then again, some people just don't want to take risks.

Nevertheless, a respectable act.

What you did was so cool.
People nowadays can't seem to be able to see past their own dick and when there's someone in need, the tendency to ignore that person overcomes our willingness to help. You picked him up regarless because you CARED for him and his situation.

I wish more people cared about others like you did. Mad props to you, good sir.

While true, I did take a risk, however I took an educated risk. The poor guy just looked like your average mid twenty something year old, huge jug of water and the most miserable look on his face. He didn't even have his finger out to signal anybody, he looked like he was going to collapse. One could also argue that anything in life comes with risks, I'd say simply getting into your car and driving somewhere is more likely to get you killed than picking up a normal looking stranger.
Obviously if he looked shady in the slightest I Wouldn't pick him up but I felt so sorry for him.
