I went to Anime Expo for the first time ever on Saturday, and it was quite enjoyable. I managed to snag quite a few cosplayer pictures, so this blog will pretty much just consist of those. There were so many different cosplays there that I wish I could have gone another day or two just to see more.

These images have been greatly resized to make it easier on those with slow internet (such as myself... -_- ), but if you see something you like, let me know and I can upload a larger sized version.

Hahaha cosplay is simultaneously the best and worst thing. Never seen Monty Python Holy Grail cosplay before tho ;p

It's okay, once HanaKana comes to AX, you'll go regardless of how far away you are.

Lots of good ones I missed. I didn't take very many pics of cosplayers this year but I made up for it with a pretty good number of Japanese guests pics. I also blame ZNF cause I hung out with him instead.

I was considering making my own blog but too lazy so I'll just post them here for you/others.

LiSA, one of the singers of GDM in Angel Beats, F/Z opening, and SAO opening.

Ayami, some singer of insert song in TE. This was one of the best pics I got.

Minami Kuribayashi, sings TE opening among many others.

Kouki Yoshimune, the writer of Muv Luve Alternative: Total Eclipse.

Ryo Horikawa, the voice of Vegeta (Japanese). He also voices Kaiser Reinhard for those who know what logh is. Mini-concert :o

Ei Aoki (left) and Hikaru Kondo (right), director and producer, respectively, of Fate/Zero

Rikiya Koyama, the voice of Emiya Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero. Also, Emonzaemon from Katanagatari according to that znf guy.

and finally, my personal favorite, Tomoe Tamiyasu, the voice of Natsume Rin/Sasasasasa/Riki from the amazing VN Little Busters! She was very under-the-radar because not an official guest (also, very few people follow VNs) and as a result, there was very little security. This meant handshakes and pictures galore!

I'm disappointed in myself for not taking very many pics of cosplaying this year (estimated I only got like 1/4 of the amount I took last year). However, last year I got a grand total of 0.5 pics of the guests. Only took illegal pics of Kalafina and they turned out quite blurry. So in regards to guests, I'm overall satisfied. I literally got pics of every single guest I cared for except Kajiura/FictionJunction members because they didn't allow pics, just like Kalafina last year.

I also realized that cosplayers tend to be either 1) bad, or 2) good but not something I care for. The ones that are both good and I care about (i.e. characters like Touko-senpai) are unpopular and hard to spot. They tend to be off actually enjoying the expo and no one cares about them. Like, last year I spotted a Togame from Katanagatari from afar on day 1, lost her in the crowd, and didn't find her again until day 3, when she was heading home while being ignored or something. Otherwise, you just look for crowds and follow suit. A lot of them are good, but rarely do I see ones where I go: "YES it's ______!" I missed a Fate Testarossa, apparently.

KazeHydra were you able to get into the Yuki Kajiura main event? The line was so long by the time I got there that I had no hope of getting in and so I just left. I really wanted to go...
And is there any possible way you can post those pictures of Kalafina from last year??

Uhh, you realize that tickets were sold beforehand so although the line was ridiculous, everyone there already had guaranteed seating, right? Unless you're talking about the standby line for "leftover" tickets. Not sure exactly how that worked but they were free so I can only imagine how long that line was. And yes, I did go...it was amazing :3
