I also find this genre quite detestable and boring because it seems like almost all artists and bands just rip eachother off and do nothing new or interesting.
That said, this was pretty good. Honestly it wasn't very memorable to me and it's most likely not something that I would download, but I also wouldn't skip it if it came up in an online radio or something of that nature. I didn't like the vocals that much (they reminded me a bit of Shadows Fall) the screams didn't have that much power to them IMHO and the cleans were somewhat whiny at times. The guitar rhythm parts didn't do that much to catch people's attention with some sick riffs or anything of that sort, which is kinda sad IMHO. The drums sounded kind of... off? Though you did say you used samples so that's alright. One thing I did like is that you did not put 10 breakdowns on this EP, a mistake many metalcore bands make nowadays.
That's my criticism. Honestly I hope you'll keep writing music, maybe get some better gear or some other talented people to work with and I'm sure you could do great. This was honestly better than most of today's metalcore that I've heard, and when considered that you wrote and performed/programmed this by yourself... that's quite a feat to outperform 4-member or 5-member bands.
Overall I give this EP a 6/10 rating and I hope that you decide to post more of your future work here, I'm positive that you can do better. ^^

Thanks for listening and the critics, especially since you're not in to the genre.

I'll listen to it in a bit, even though I fucking despise metalcore (I'm more of a death metal guy) to give you the opinion of someone who may not be very interested in it purely from what genre it's labeled as.

Alright, so I listened to it, and I didn't like it (obviously, like I said, I hate metalcore), however, as a lot of other people have said, the production is quite good, the audio quality is much higher than I'd expect from an EP released by some random guy. And on top of that, you did it solo, so that's very, very impressive.
I'll try and criticize the music, but again, I like death metal, so I'm not really sure what makes a good metalcore song. The vocals just felt weak a lot of the time, even by metalcore standards, try going a bit deeper with the growling/screaming/whatever you want to call it, and the clean vocals sound pretty inconsistent, at some points they sound just as good as I'd expect from some big label metalcore band, and sometimes they just completely miss, but I guess that's just more of a practice makes perfect thing. The music itself seemed a bit repetitive, especially the first song, imo.
Afraid I can't really give much more criticism (sorry), and what I've said here is probably way off, too. All that said however, I think you should definitely keep at it, as it sounds much better than a lot of other metalcore, especially if you can find a group of people to work together with, as it'll take a lot of pressure of you doing everything on your own.

Same here
The vocals seemed a bit overwhelmed by the music and could use a bit more power and drive behind them, which was mentioned in the thread. Other than that, good quality and I hope to hear more in the future
