If blizzard continues their path of nerfing everything that is deemed too powerful (and only during a small time span’s worth of observation) then SC2 will never be as dynamic as BW. If for example blizzard thinks that widow mines are too powerful vs zerg then I would like to see them make a zerg unit even more powerful or give zerg another ability instead of just nerfing the widow mine (and I would like them to do this only after many months of observing the metagame instead of jumping on every single trend within weeks). I wish blizzard would put more faith in the community/map makers to find their own solutions to the balance, which is quite a bit of where the fun comes from (at least in BW). Referring to this paragraph, I believe that you are 100% correct in everything you said in this blog so far. I think the Blizzard we knew back in 1995 are the opposite of the Blizzard we know now. Where as before Blizzard balanced through making a ton of really cool, fun, and overpowered units, today they make a ton of boring, easy-to-use and master, "balanced" units. One reason could be that they think making things easy-to-use and more beginner friendly will bring in more players to the top scene. The bad thing though is that with less and less units to do "tricks with" like reaver/shuttle etc. there becomes less and less spectators enjoying themselves, if watching at all.

With such fast moving units like roaches/lings/chargelots/blinkstalkers you would just search for mines and run into your opponents army. That would make chargelots even more better. that's the sort of thinking that will keep SC2 from being exciting. it will make positioning a lot more important and it won't be as hard to deal with as in BW because of the long timer on them (giving you more time to react to a mine drag).
