Hey, strictly out of curiosity and helping anyone feel a little nostalgic.
When I started playing BW, I first started hanging out in " eva "
all channels that werent public were private back then, with ops and whatnot. It was great. Did that for so many years. I don't think any of the people I met there were ever on TL. That was the biggest lifetime ago.
But I spent even more time in Terran Strategy. I know SOMEONE from TL must have chatcrafted there with the rest of us(I'm loooking at you, Mindcrime.) . It was such a grand old time.
Did anyone else chatcraft on BNET more often than they played real games(Probably not, I was never big into the game tbh. but still?) Have a favorite spot? Whats up.

I feel like there should be a "missed connections" thread on TL now lol.
Hi, I'm Bisudagger. You wore a starcraft shirt at MLG. You said you played protoss like me. I think we were meant for each other. Let me know if you are the mystery person I'm looking for. It's like craigs list: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/mis/

Dear guy working at Canada Computers in Barrie, Ontario who complimented my TL shirt:
Thanks brah.
yeah that'd be a sweet thread :p

I used Clan XX and Clan x17 mostly. I remember when getting a bot set up in a channel was the biggest hassle and you had to get it it's own CD key.

I remember talking to you via PM when you were going through some rough times, both of us being in upstate New York, maybe getting together to chill. Never came to life =[
If you chilled on USWest in any of the Korean or big US team channels I probably know you under one of my smurfs, but who knows :3

Oh man, I can totally relate haha! @ US East
#1 and forever: op arcology (where I took my name from later on)
I remember we'd have anywhere from 4 to 10 people in the channel trying to get a game going, but half the people were never in a hurry... And then the latency... But not real latency, because in game it was fine, just getting to that point was difficult though. Thunder_Sturm was the best host, everyone could join his games! But without him getting everyone into the same game required a series of "lat tricking" bnet... and prayer. This is actually one of the other big big improvements that bnet .2 made over the original in that anyone can host with no issues or complicated modem/router messing around.
Also to a much lesser extent 'sheep', 'motel', and I even visited 'Terran Strategy' on occasion though I was no regular. Also, Clan SCC and Clan OD!

My first channel was channel seoul on East. Other stuff came later.

I liked Blizzard Chat 1 a lot. tl-west was good but it was more for finding people to play with. Because of UMS and chat channels, it took me a long time to start playing 1:1 real SC with any consistency. And even after I started taking 1:1 seriously, I still spent time in BC1 just about until it became completely inactive. Met a lot of friends there, one or two I still have. Other vanished mysteriously and it makes me think back to those days with curiosity at how different a person I was.

Back in the Diablo 1 and SC1 days I would hang out in channels: hell, dark, ]i[ (clan ]i[ was pretty baller back then), gate (i think) and some other ones. they were always hotly contested by bots who would take control and ban everyone. bot wars were the best, had to wait til the servers split and then you could get ops (which would be shared once they came back together) and then you would have to outwait the other guy to get full control. was ridiculous

You don't really want chat channels do you? I mean with all those spammers and bots this couldn't possibly have been enjoyable. I mean, interacting with other humans why would you want to do that? :S
+ Show Spoiler +sorry, I had to. I'll let myself out

Man bot wars and all the clan drama back on old b.net was awesome ... I remember when I joined clan x-20 which was an x-17 wannabe... good times.
