I recently attended MLG Anaheim. I had an amazing time watching the games and meeting the players. But one thing that differentiated this MLG's from the others is that this MLG gave us a look at the new Starcraft 2 expansion:Heart of the Swarm. Fortunately, I got to the event at a time when there was completely no line!! So my friend and I were able to try out the game. This new expansion seems like it has a lot of potential, but I feel like some of the units in the game can be touched on quite a bit. One thing that I noticed, was that the Tempest( a long range anti-air/ground) took an extensive amount a time for a Protoss to add to their army. Although it did replace the carrier, I don't think that it should require a Fleet Beacon to be built. One thing that you can do is to lower the HP on the Tempest to maybe 3/4 what it is now, and maybe reduce it range a little bit. I think that this change could really strengthen Protoss in the Mid game. Another thing that I think should be tweaked, is the Spider Mine for Terran. I think that the concept for the unit is great but a little bit overpowered. One way to fix this is to make it so it is only effective vs ground units. I felt like the spider mine as it is now would to easy be used as an anti harass unit against air. Also, I think that that the price for one is a little bit on the cheap side. Instead of 75/25, I think that 100/50 is much more appropriate. As for Zerg, I feel like the Swarm Host should be taken out of the game completely and replace with something more mobile and versatile. I felt that the biggest problem with the Swarm Host is its mobility. I felt like the movement speed of the Swarm Host was just too slow to get them where I want them and when I want them there. Another problem with them is that their reproduction time on the locust is extensively long. I think that these two problems alone will make the Swarm Host completely unused not only on ladder, but in the pro scene too.
Thanks for reading, Hope that this could help.
