So I've been heavily invested in production/streaming values since SC2 came out, and paying the most attention to home studios. Please join me on my journey to build a high production quality studio with a low quality budget.

The first entry will showcase my space (I'm currently writing from work, but will update with photos when I get home.) Clutter and all. The first few steps will be cleaning out my downstairs area to give myself a blank slate. I will also be using this blog for any advice that can be recommended to me.

I plan to keep upgrading the studio and streaming on a more scheduled basis to see just where I can go with my studio. I plan to implement more than just SC2 (possibly LoL, Diablo 3, DayZ, and whatever else I find to play) and have playing as well as casting.

This is cool! So awesome you have a dedicated space. Honestly, I shoot my show in my office and I hate the fact that I don't have a backdrop. I tried a few things with different arrangements and it is just not replicatable - which is what you want in a show, to do it very quick every time with little setup or fuss.

Best of luck in the show. Biggest tip I can offer is don't strive for perfection. Just make the show and then improve the show. Making is SO much more important that making awesome.

Jason this has been my issue for so long. I'm taking some day9 advice and just doing it Like you said, making is so much more important than making awesome.

My next blog will be an overview of the equipment/furniture I currently have and some of the plans I have.

Well after I get the room setup in the next couple of days, I'd love some stream graphics, and I'm looking at a rasterbated back drop to cover up the gross wood panels. So if you're interested in doing ANY of that stuff, I'd be thrilled.. I also plan to have a monitor viewable from the webcam constantly running promotions for my friends streams/companies so I can definitely give you some advertisement

Small update!

I've cleared out my room and started prepping my "set" -- my goal is to have the stream atleast up and running by the end of this weekend.

Here is the rasterbation image that I used.. the "city" backdrop of San Francisco.. I picked SF, because I feel like it is the closest thing the USA has to a "hub" of esports. They have IGN/Twitch/Riot (not too far away)

another update! Added my desk as well as an "ad monitor" I plan on running this in the background.. Looks like my backdrop may not be big enough :x
