The second day of doing this blog stuff. I almost didn't want to come on and write it up. But anyways here's how ladder day went. Lost the first few games in a row, but then I can back and had a winning streak at the end. So I guess I ended the day off with a positive note! Somethings I find my self reminding my self of is that I need to remember to build overlords because getting supply blocked is not the best way to loss... Sadly, that's what causes me alot of my loses. But I'm getting better at it! Hopefully anyway T.T
ZvT
Played alot of ZvT today and lost most of them due to stupid things like failing at baneling micro. Anyone got any tips on how to hotkey banelings? I also lost due to sending my zerglings into tanks and then I proceeded to watch them get blasted. Poor, poor zerglings </3 And then my infestors. Oh not my infestors. For some reason while I was casting fungle growth all 14 of my infestors decided that they wanted to attack too and then just went up to the front along with all the roaches and lings. Sadly I was left with 2 when the battle was over. Not very cost efficient don't you think? I also found out that 3/3 marines behind the mineral line with medivac support beats everything. EVERYTHING.
ZvP
I didn't play many ZvP matchups today but the one's I did play I thought I did pretty well. I won all of them. But the last ZvP that I played it was really close. I keep running out of minerals at the end of the game. I can't figure out why. I expand when I need to and I move my drones to new mineral patches when I need to, but I can't figure out what is happening. Usually I would have almost 3k minerals (yes, I know 3k...) at the end of the game, but this game I had less then 500! So I don't know what was going on, although my gas was at 2k :s Oh and by the way. I never hatch first in ZvP anymore not after yesterday's three pylon wall off.
ZvZ
The bane of zerg, facing another zerg. This match up was ok for me today. I won some of them and lost some of them so a 50% win rate versus zerg today. I realized that putting pressure with speedling run-bys is an effective way of keeping the opponent occupied while droning up and getting roach/hydra. I also realized that if the opponent isn't going to attack early in the game he probably isn't going to attack any time soon (There are times when this is non applicable of course). So when the opponent is doing what ever he's doing I just take a third base and try to deny his third.
Things I Learned / Things to Improve
-ZvT
-I need to improve my unit control and decision making
-I learned that 3/3 marines will kick my ass any day
-I learned that putting some defensive units at expansions is good for protecting drops
-I need to remember to defend my expansion against drops
-ZvP
-I learned that denying his third is the key to winning
-I learned that hydra/roach/corrupter will destroy most protoss armies
-I learned that if the opponent does get an expansion up that a ling run by is very effective.
-I need to do more ling run bys to inflict MAXIMUM DAMAGES
-I need to improve my units splitting versus high templars
-ZvZ
-I learned that, like in ZvP, counter attacking is key
-I learned that taking out a hatchery is not only limiting income, but limiting unit production
-I need to do the Destiny Four Infestor Hit Squad more... It's too good
Where I'm at
