Xbox 360 RROD buying a new one

RedTail United States104 Posts April 26 2012 19:02 GMT #1 All my threads get closed so i hope this one doesn't T.T. So I have an old xbox (not under warranty) that RROD for the second time. The first time my brother did some ninja work and fixed it with putting some washers inside it (it doesn't matter what exactly he did but he fixed it. His RROD too and he fixed that too. After that his RROD again! and he just bought a new one. I was looking around and I saw a new 4 gb xbox for about $200. Also, I was also looking at ebay and saw I could get a cheaper xbox with games as well, but I'm wary of buying a used one in case it will break again. So my question is, what version of Xboxes (if any) won't RROD. Like will the elites RROD? Also I have a HD (I don't know how many gigs), but if I buy a new 4 gb, can I use my old HD? I read that core xbox 360s don't have HDMI outputs, and I would really like HDMI, If anyone has a 360 that won't break and is willing to sell you can pm me. Thank you for your time.

FlyingToilet United States840 Posts April 26 2012 19:40 GMT #2 My elite i had i got refurbished was barely used but still refurbished, i played for like 2 years straight every day. the only thing that went out on it was its lens and disk drive, plus i played it to the point where it overheated whenever i played it for 5 min -_- so i ghetto rigged the fan to always be on, but it has never ever RROD on me i am not for sure on other types of 360 because i never owned one. but my buddy owned one of the original cores and had it fixed like 10 times for RROD and still has it working to this day. but my elite gave me my 200 bucks worth and has never RROD on me, so i would go with an elite. plus the elites do have hdmi inputs, and i would sell mine but its old and dusty and needs a new disk drive on top of it being overheated like 100+ times, so mine is a no go lol
