I think it's the reason iamperfection sees a problem on his left-side, I wasn't clear enough with the shading on that jaw. Only have a HB pencil, thinking of investing in some charcoal to be able to smudge and that, has been a lot of fun to experiment! Thanks for the advice guys! I find people who are mostly self taught just need to learn the most effective ways to improve. Most of them are just drawing in large amounts to get better and not concentrating on the things that they need to improve most, whether that be structure, shading, line quality or whatever. I would definitely invest in some more supplies, but before you do look at how other artists do it. If you're really inspired by glider and really love his work watch his videos and try to learn from his process. Don't copy it, but just see if you can incorporate some elements of how he works into your process. I think that would be very helpful to your improvement. Most important thing though is just to keep drawing and keep looking at stuff. You've got some good talent and obviously some passion too. Keep nurturing it : ) GL.

![]() in other words: It isn't what you draw that makes you an amazing artist, it is how you draw it. Glider is the perfect example. If he drew with just paper and pencil or crayons or markers or w/e he would probably be much less respected. However, he does his work with intense technique and perfection and draws with charcoal, something rarely seen in everyday life.

This is really great advice, thanks fire_brand ![]() Thanks 3FFA, I figure it's only polite to respond! I usually do either acrylic or digital painting (http://ultimatehurl.com/art/ has examples), feel like I'm trying to find a good way to approach pencil sketching that suits me. It's a lot of fun to explore ![]()
