I'm getting bored of SC2. It seems to be the same old shit every match up because of the rigidity of map lay-outs. Standard attack paths seem the norm with decent expansion lay-out. It amazes me that all the community created maps follow the same rule. Easy 3rd. 4th is ridiculously far away.
I'm no stranger to map editors (well I have put alot of time into the TES: Construction Set. Made my own town lol) and I decide to try out map making.
I get this far before I decide my major flaw (which I knew from the start; Siegable/Colossusable Main) which I had a plan to fix would distort the map too much. So I gave up.
My idea for this map was to have a macro 2-player map. The Backdoor natural that lead to the 4th I felt worked because its almost always viewable so its easy to prevent/prepare for an attack there. I had planned for 12/14 bases total with an expansion layout making attack path redundant (eg u have 4 bases, your natural has no direct attack path). I was also going to make the main on the small side so you would have to place buildings at natural/3rd ect..
So what I really would like to know is what features you would like to see in my next map attempt (well I plan to actually make the WHOLE map next time. I started this one halfcocked with only an idea and not a plan)?
