So my little brother has had a real problem with Starcraft lately. Mainly, he didn't enjoy it. He lost a lot, he felt like he was bad at it, and he didn't have the same enjoyment he got out of League of Legends. I was rather sad about this, because we had started playing Starcraft 2 together, made our own team and wanted to play along side each other to become pro-gamers that would compete for the top spots!
But as we discussed why my brother was not interested in the game anymore, playing Protoss as his race, suddenly a bug crawled across the table, right next to my mouse hand, and I jumped back and then just proceeded to whack the poor thing. I know it is not noble to end the life of a creature ten sizes smaller than you, but it was poor reflex. Though my following comment changed everything: "God damn, that looked like a ling. Maybe we should just play Zerg together?"
And we did. And he loved it.
2v2, both of us Zerg, all night long. It was amazing. Zerglings, Banelings, Roaches, Infestors, Mutas. All these units, one after another popping from the eggs of the hatcheries and ready to attack whatever was coming at us. And we won all of our games. It was amazing. Soon after, he went to play 1v1 Ladder again as Zerg, and he stomped his enemies, making me really proud and happy. Not only did I bring my brother back the joy of playing Starcraft, but we are playing the same race now :D
It is funny to note that NONE of my friends or team mates play Terran. No one wants to bother macro all of that around.

Well I personally feel that Terran is too slow, if that makes any sense.
While Protoss has their Warpgates, and Zerg is just all around a pretty fast race, Terran needs multiple buildings in order to build one unit at a time, two if you put a reactor on it.
And once your army is down, you will end up in a bad position, because you will have to slowly rebuild all of it.
That, together with how the constructions of the buildings work and how you need your Command Centers to all be the same "kind" of base (Orbital or Planetary) to access all their features without having to tab, most of us see Terran as a chore that one does not want to play.
We understand they are extremely good if you can play them well, but no one of us wants to play a "Let us turtle, mass army, then move out" type of game.

This style of play is probably a lot less viable as terran than any of the other two races?

Well once again, none of us really want to play them, so we wouldn't really know.
It's just what it seems like to us.
