hey everyone
i am just venting my anger on being banned from chat channels. I think it is the worst thing in the world when you cant express yourself, or even defend yourself because you cant speak anymore
I remember the first time i was banned in a chat, and that was for saying JP was a bad caster (this was on SOTG obviously)
I really think people should be allowed to say things like this, as it is their own personal opinion and i did not use any offensive language, so i can see the reason
but just now i have been banned from the KT vs ACE match chat channel. And for what? This person said he felt bad for flash losing, and i kept on stating that 'its not a big drama' and things like 'why do you feel sorry for him? because he only has an 88% winrate?'
Flash is by far and away my favorite player from SC1 or 2 (he was in the power rank once...) and i was just trying to explain even though he has lost 2 matches in a row, he is still the best player in the league, and if he retired today he would still be remembered as one of the greats.
And then i get this #$%^&* response :

i have read this over and over and it doesnt even make sense! wtf does this have to do with manslaughter? and covering up with moneys? you dont add an s at the end of moneys wtf?!
I was so frustrated and wanted to just say "why did you ban me?" but i cant do it because i cant type anymore!
Basically, having freedom of speech taken away sucks, it is literally one of the worst feelings i have experienced, and in my case it sucks so hard that i was banned by a guy who cant even use correct english.

You do not have freedom of speech on private chat channels. Those chat channels belong to whoever is in charge of them, and they have every right to ban you for acting in a way they don't like. Chatting and interacting is a privilege, not a right.

Getting to defend yourself from a ban isn't a right either. Daphreak said, don't act like a dick, don't do anything that might be interpreted as being controversial or antagonistic, and you wont get banned.

It's their channel, they are the op. There is no overarching regulatory body governing how ops manage their bans. Real life and, by extension, the internet, often times doesn't revolve around your personal needs, wants, and values. If you don't like it, you can leave; or get yourself banned.

On the ban list now there's only 20 people and all 20 of them deserve it (people who just continue to spam hate messages about bw, streamer, other people). With that said, you're not even banned, just kicked. You're welcome to chat as long as you're not persistant in being a dick to others (I don't know if you were).

im not too sure... Telling JP is a bad caster in his OWN show. You'll get the same treatment in all streams, you just weren't being smart about where you were saying your things...

There is a time and a place for almost everything. Criticizing the host of the chat channel you´re in while he is busy doing something(doing his show) is maybe not the wisest thing to do.

I'm totally with you on this one firehand101, I once got banned for typing something similar.
I never watched that stream again. Just ditch those guys. If they keep up those strict policies, they'll turn into something I/You do not wish to be a part of.

People rarely ever even get banned from #nanashin anyways.
(unless you go to CMU but that is another story)
If you get kicked then oh well, it's no big deal. Rejoin or do something else. I don't see why people make such a big deal about it instead of relaxing it.

but seriously, if you haven't figured out that most stream channels are just the streamer and his friends modded, and they just kick people either because a) the person being kicked is a douche, or b) because they're bored and feel like it, and if you haven't figured out that the only way you will get banned from a stream channel is through repeated offense, then perhaps you should stay away from stream channels

Simple rule of thumb: Don't join any stream chats or IRC channels if you are
A. Faint of heart
B. Looking to troll
C. Think you are better than others when there's a high chance you aren't
D. Get butthurt over kicks, not even a ban

I would just like to say, the only people I ban are other mods in the channel. My power hunger is unrivaled in #nanashin.

Learn to appreciate things silently, it may guide you to a path that is less self-centered and indignant at minor offenses such as this. Could also help you make fewer missteps in the future as well.

You know I don't get why people think chat is a god given right that no one can take from them.
Also, don't be a dick. I have been banned from precisely 0 chats in the about 2 1/2 years I have been using live streaming services. Why? Because I'm not a dick.

Yeah honestly like others have said, you lose your entitlement to freedom of speech in a private chat. It's too trivial to actually bring an issue like this to court and whatnot as you can plainly see.
I bitched about getting kicked from chat because I guess I called some an idiot lol, but I was drunk in your case you don't seem to be so you need to understand that it quite simply isn't worth the effort to get angry over it.
Even if you may view that private chat channel's roster of mods as tyrannical, then it's just that and it's private for that reason. So in the end it will never be able to host some amazing professional event with mods who would kick a customer who paid his $10 - $15 pass for a minor offense, or more likely no offense. Maybe that will make you feel better.
