NOTE: These are my opinions and I speak for myself if you share them great post below if you dont also fine post below why you think a different way. DO NOT FLAME THIS BLOG. it is not the time or place.
-Thank you
Alright guys I hoped this community would never get to this point but it has its the internet the land of the free and home of the brave behind a keyboard. First off I need to ask that you STOP witchhunts altogether when they are to affect someones professional life while they are participating in there personal life.
For any of you who went to the sponser of EG to specifically hunt someones job, there are places for you after this world and i don't have to go anyfarther. But please let me explain myself, who accually did research on the subject past go to /r/starcraft and seeing a screen shot of the N word on his stream?
Did any of you guys think about what happended? These guys sniped and cheated him out for over an hour of his time. What happened before in this community when someone was cheating? Exiled just ask combatex and deezer. But, why now are you guys causing a witch hunt citing something that didn't happen this year?
Sure, your probably screaming but that first one was this year! Well IMO that one doesn't count why? Backstory, eviromrent, and context. As i said above the backstory was in this LADDER game he was sniped, cheesed, and cheated on for a long period of time. Wait did you read that yes it was a unstreamed LADDER game. How can you honestly judge someone's proffessionality at his job (remember he is a caster not a player which makes this game even less relevant) on something that happened in his free time?
The enviroment of Bnet has always been rage inducing not that this excuses it but, it does infact bring up a pot calling the kettle black situation. I would put 10k down that 90% of the people who were included in the witchhunt have raged, cused, and trashed talked on ladder. Again while this doesn't excuse the action it furthers the point of hipocracy involved in this whoel situation.
Context, if you read above all my points are mention so in order not beat a dead horse...
The second piece of evidence is interesting to say the least. After the whole "it wasn't me on the account" thing someone else made a post citing a picture and vod that showed him saying the N word this time on his stream. While he was featured on TL, this was a problem and I agree with TL choose to remove featured stream becuase of it. But, why the F@#! was anyone using this LADDER game on his stream to contact the sponsers of EG in order to get him fired,,,
These events DID NOT occur while he was on the job and payed by eg. and for all the hypocratic people who sought out to get him fired imo are in the wrong...
Getdead out.

Yeah I don't know who would be assholes enough to do this to a guy. EG knew of the incident and they can make their own decisions. They don't need random people pressuring them into decision which will really affect this guy.
|
I can't stand politically correct zealots. They are for sure some of the biggest fascists I've ever met.
I hope these people lose their job over inadvertently insulting another hypersensitive wimp.

If you're paid a salary, you're always "on the job." Public image is part of what you're paid for. This is how the workforce works.
Secondly, how was he sniped if he wasn't streaming his ladder games? You contradict yourself. Either he was streaming and got sniped or not streaming and didn't get sniped.
Third, "cheesing" as you call it is an important part of the game, unless you want to watch only NoRush20 games, it keeps players honest.
I'm glad he got fired; EG has some "bad boys" on their team but none of them are backwards, uncouth racists. As a team that is constantly trying to defend itself to its sponsors, they absolutely had to fire him, or risk losing all of their players due to lack of sponsorship.
|
Like I've said before, "nigger" is just a word. If they fired him for being racist that's one thing, but firing him for using a word that doesn't represent his beliefs? That's just pathetic. Orb is completely in the right in defending his right to use the word, and it's disappointing to see him apologize when honestly he was the one who was wronged.
|
Cowardly, (z)jealous pundits would rather prey on peoples' gut-level reaction to rile up a storm about something than actually be mature and address the issue directly. If the original poster of this content was so upset by it, why was his first response not to contact Orb directly? It's insanely childish to hide behind a wall of thousands of people to get your point across, and it ends up hurting everyone in the long run. The community is again divided about drama, EG has had to spend time dealing with PR/sponsorship issues, Orb has been fired, and it all could have been avoided if people understood how to be mature and responsible for their thoughts and actions.

Yeah, it's pretty bad how this witchhunt essentially got him fired.

More like pot calling the kettle a nigger.

If you are "always on the job" you would rack up some serious overtime.
I do believe the are other methods of stream snipe I.E. friends list and i've heard of others.
Its funny you are exactly the mindset im pointing out in this blog sure they had too but, it those who pursued and made a big deal out of a situation that really didn't mean anything more then he used a word.

Yeah. Fucking doctors.
His behaviour caught up with him. Regardless of the situation, if your job is streaming / casting and entertaining people, it stands to reason that if you offend the people watching (effectively customers), they're not going to watch (buy your goods). And if people contract you to stream (sell stuff for them), you might get fired.
I agree that going to sponsers over the organisers of the event is the wrong thing to do, but I think people do have a right to complain.

I'm not sure if he's going to get the joke.
Other than that enough with the dead horse beatings already. If you don't like what Orb has done don't watch his stuff anymore. If you do then keep watching his streams and supporting him. For some reason you seem to think that it's ok for Orb to express his opinions or just be immature or whatever you want to call it but that it's not ok for other people to get offended over it. Or for EG to do what they want and fire the guy. If you don't like EG then don't support them or their sponsors anymore. But to somehow suggest that Orb has some sort of a right to keep his job just because it was his "personal" time (whatever that means) is silly. If there's a way to put it on the internet without violating any laws then it is not private or personal.
edit: also I'm confused as to who or what the wizards who are doing these witchhunts are? Aren't the male version of witches warlocks?

It wasn't on a stream representing EG. Also my whole blog was talking about how they DIDN'T have the right because it would be the equivalent of asking a mcdonalds employer to fire someone because i heard him tell someone on the phone to go to H@#%.

As has been stated many times a McDonald's employee is not a public persona. Orb, by being a caster for a professional team, is. I don't know if this has been brought up before but this is a direct quote from Orb from 2 years ago:
and I usually don't attempt to restrict myself and act like a professional when playing video games, that would make it like a job and I think I would quit gaming source here
He clearly knows what it is to act unprofessional. So I don't think this could have been a huge surprise to him. Besides if he really meant what he said it sounds like EG did him a favor and now he can get back to acting like himself again.

Of course he deserves to be fired. When you are a public figure and a professional your conduct off of the job is very important to the image of any organization you belong to. When a professional athlete or ESPN broadcaster has poor off-the-field or off-the-air conduct, they are usually given some sort of penalty if not outright fired.
Especially in a growing market like ESPORTS it's very important to maintain a positive image of the community, players, and organizations involved. That's the reality of it. You either are very childish or just have absolutely no concept of how business functions.
