41-37, that's how my ladder record is going to look as this season ends, and I can't say I'm all too happy with it. I want to play more, and that's my goal for next season. I actually have a much bigger goal than that though, and that goal is grandmaster league.
But before I elaborate on that, I figured an introduction would be in order. I'm Canas, I'm a mid master zerg (around 1100-ish mmr, if you want to be really specific) on the EU server, and I have never finished a season with an empty bonus pool, and this season isn't going to be any different (and not just because of the bonus pool bug). 18 months after release, I've only got 640 1v1 wins.
As you can probably tell I'm not too happy with this (no, I don't suffer from ladder anxiety, at all), and I aim to change it. I think the game is incredible, and I have a lot of fun playing it, the issue is that I think a lot of other games are very good too. Most recently it's been dota 2 and skyrim, but there's been others as well, not to mention real life. I've decided that I want to give this a go however, so I'll try my best (though, knowing myself, it probably won't even last a week) to focus on starcraft for the time being.
Now, as I mentioned earlier, I've set a goal for myself, and that goal is qualifying for grandmaster league in season 7, and obviously, I'm not going to reach that goal by barely playing one game a day, which is why I'm going to make myself play 10 ladder games every day during the week, and 20 during the weekends, with as few interruptions as possible, starting on (wednesday, I think?), when season 6 starts.
Don't really have all that much more to say, I'm not even sure why I'm blogging about this. I suppose it's to try and make extra sure I go through with it, and perhaps get some encouragement. I considered streaming, since having a few people watching you progress can help with your motivation, but I doubt people would want to watch me anyway, so I most likely won't bother.
I guess that's it, for now at least, thanks for reading, and see you on the ladder.

Do it, set your goals and don't stray from them. I believe everyone can do what they set their mind too, but you really have to want it. I'm not sure 10 games a day is enough to be grandmasters though, I would expect instead of measuring amount of games played, measure amount of time spent playing, maybe 5 or 6 hours during the week. I feel that's what is needed. Either way good luck with your goal.

Good luck !

Good luck man! Always nice to see someone putting lots of effort in! :D

Good luck, glad to see one of these threads where the OP has a realistic, obtainable goal.

Good luck and happy birthday!

Good luck! I'm in the exact same boat, I ended around 1k but was 1150 a few days ago. I had to play a lot more games to get to this rating though lol. I think the cutoff for GM this season is either 1400 or 1500. I'm hoping to make it to GM in S8.

I probably worded that badly, what I meant was I'll play 10 games a day minimum, and if I feel like it I can always continue and play more. The side goal I've set for myself is that I want to finally get my Queen of Blades portrait, but if I go through with this and do it properly, I should get it along the way anyway.
And thanks for the encouragement everyone, it helps!

Well... I don't know you and I don't know your desire. But if you have no intentions to go "pro" I would say continue to play the game in a way that continue to make it fun for you. If you grind out 10-15 games a day because you feel you have to might ruin the gaming experience for you (or not - I don't know).
All I'm trying to say is that you need to figure out if playing more starcraft in order to get to grandmaster is what you want instead of just continue to have a great playing experience and not burn out with starcraft.
And Happy Birthday =)
