So I was checking iCCup today, and I ended up viewing the country ladder just to see how the PH did against the other countries. (I know, we're not exactly "up there" with the rest of the world, but whatever  )
After clicking on the link to the PH ladder, I see something that immediately catches my interest.

Yes, an A- PH player. I know this isn't exactly news, but this is kind of a big deal for me. I heard there were pretty good PH players back then (like SteelHeart, who managed to take a game off Hwasin, not sure) but they all left for SC2 and/or retired. Also, I wasn't aware of the PH SC scene until 2011.
So I was wondering, who is this guy? Is he some BW veteran who still plays BW or is he some no-namer who is actually that good?
Whoever you are, KUDOS. As one of the few remaining PH BW players, I salute you Spt.inrain
for your skills and love for the game. You could at least let me know who you are or whether you've played in tourneys before.  + Show Spoiler +(or whether you're korean)
He's even number 7 on the ladder.

Rare for SEAsians like us to be above B-, this guy has got to be pretty darn good eh.

Hahaha, discrepency between #1 and 2 is so great. Maybe he entered his flag wrong? jkjk. But iCCup ladder is definitely not as rough as it used to be at the top ranks. I wouldn't be surprised if people are all much higher than they should be. You have to remember that only two years ago you wouldn't see any non-Koreans breaking top ten, and you might see one or two in the top 30 (and they would just be grinders who dodged Koreans). Not even Ret when he was playing BW and fairly good was having much luck at that level. But then, he's also one loss away from B+, which I believe is what happened to ret, getting bounced back and forth between two ranks.
When Satanik played a few months ago he climbed to the top ranks really easily, so it's possible this is another old player who used to be very good.

Well, that's a good point. But there's no denying this guy is pretty good. I can't even get past damn yellow ranks. >_>
